Hi ... I just started Ceftin in addition to Doxy and Clarithromysyn and have been experiencing increased muscle pain. I have had several terrible muscle spasms in my back and muscle cramps and tremors in arms and legs... also have increased pressure in my eyes and ears... and my jaw feels weird. Also, increased tingling. Am I herxing do you think or having a weird reaction to new meds... this feels scary! I'm looking for someone that may have experienced this.... any feedback would be appreciated!

Sounds like herxing! But I am no expert. Those r the symptoms I have now, before treatment. I start teament soon and doctor told me if I herx my symptoms will be a little worse and/or I may have new symptoms.

Thank you ... I will call him tomorrow,,,icurseticks do you have muscle stiffness too??? I used to run marathons.... ugh... I just want to be me again.... have been sick for 7 months now but started with tendonitis behind my knees over a year ago. Diagnosed with Lyme in January

Awww i am so sorry:( I totally understand! Yes, i do have muscle stiffness... I also constantly have a deep ache currently in my right leg. It feels like its in my bones. Very painful and annoying. Wakes me up throughout the night.

Be patient. You will get better! Do you do Empson salt baths? They help my muscle aches and pains

no... but I bought Epson salts the other day. I will start. I am trying to stretch a lot... sometimes helps and sometimes it doesn't... very frustrating. This disease is a test of patience that is for sure!! Thanks for your help! sometimes I'm not sure I will ever be better... but trying to keep the faith!

Keep the faith!! It is very frustrating...

Take an Epsom bath tonight! It will help so much! Put 3 or 4 cups in.

Sounds like a herxs. Look at the pharmacy pamphlet, it will indicated common allergic reaction. Sorry you are in pain, know you are not alone! Today was a really bad day for me too.cry

Hi Donewlyme,

It sounds like you are herxing. Amongst other things, it can cause a worsening of your symptoms, certain new symptoms might pop up.

Are you detoxing? I would like to advice you to detox as much as possible. You can find several detoxing methods on top of the lyme page, under the sticky thread 'New to Lyme?.... Start here!'.
Listen to your body and rest as much as possible.

Don't hesitate to come on the forum for help.
