Daisy's Mom, I have stayed away from tinned or canned fish for years for fear of how much mercury is inside. Do you have a fish store that you trust nearby as you can buy some fresh tuna? A good source of protein in a meaty form besides fish is chicken and/or turkey. Some stores will sell just a turkey breast which you can cook, then refrigerate and make a salad from that.
Here's a recipe I plan on trying (can't say anything about
it until I make it) but it sure sounds good:
Raw Pate Recipe with Collard Wraps
Indian-Inspired Raw Pate Ingredients
◾1 cup walnuts
◾1 cup chopped carrots
◾1 cup chopped celery
◾3-4 soaked sundried tomatoes
◾Pinch of sea salt
◾Pinch of cumin
◾Pinch of curry
◾A few drops of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Place all of these ingredients in a high speed blender (Vitamix or Blendtec) or a food processor and process until it forms a pate consistency. I don’t recommend you use a regular blender, because it won’t be able to process the ingredients properly and may overheat.
