In a nutshell, I was diagnosed with Lyme and protozoan about
6 months ago and have been treating since. I started recognizing symptoms in my son, and he has been in treatment for protozoan for 3 months or so. As my husband learned what I was going through, he recently said, "you know, I could have Lyme, too." We couldn't really afford to send him to the LLMD, too, so we ordered some LB Core from Green Dragon. He started it last week and is definitely herxing, so it's safe to say that we all have it!
The good news is that our son is doing really well with his treatment. He's pretty much symptom-free now, and I expect he'll be done with treatment in a couple of months. He has become more vibrant than I've ever seen him. If only hubby and I had enough energy to keep up with him now! I feel pretty lucky to have a good low-stress office job where I can recuperate after the weekend!
I think my husband and I were both infected before we met. I find this interesting because I think it definitely played a role in the reason he and I connected in the first place. We function so similarly, needing a lot of downtime and getting worn out by too much social activity.
Since learning my husband has Lyme, I've developed a lot more patience for him. I've learned that what I thought was apathy, laziness, etc. on his part is really NOT his fault. Even though my treatment isn't going as well as my LLMD anticipated, I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about
the future for our whole family.
