on valtrex

Hi everyone i see a new dr this friday but meanwhile i have been on valtrex that is what my last dr had put me on but stopping today because it literally knocks me out i cannot stop sleeping and i have things i need to get done i cannot function like this hopefully this new dr knows what he is doing the pharmacist said he never heard of valtrex for lyme i am stopping today jennifer

I was also on Valtrex in July and August. I'm at 80% to 90% healthier and at the tail end of my Lyme and co's treatment. Since I'm at a plateau for the past 10 months, my LLMD suggested taking it to eliminate other viral causes for my remaining sx. It made no difference to me, for better or worse.

It could be that your fatigue is the result of the Valtrex actually hitting on something, instead of just a bad side-effect. How long did your LLMD say to take it? I'ld give it at least two months. Not all pharmacists can understand the depth of treating Lyme Complex.

I can definitely understand, but like AML & Tickbite said - it's for another cause of possible issues, since it's an antiviral it won't do a thing for the Lyme, but will help the viruses that often come along with Lyme.

Don't throw it out, just reduce you dosage. Sleep as much as you can as that's when the body heals the best, but I understand that you have things to do as well. I would suggest detoxing too, as it could help.
