My second Lyme test is positive for both Igenex and CDC standards.
Will my traditional drs now honor this result and treat it?

They'll at most give you 2-4 weeks of 200mg Doxycycline (too low - bacteriostatic, not bacteriocidal dose for Lyme, and without cystbuster, not likely to completely eradicate the infection).

Then, if your symptoms persist, they'll tell you it's not the Lyme anymore - that was "cured" with the low dose Doxy.

The only doctors who will take your test results seriously are Lyme-Literate doctors.

I have a great GP, when my results came back positive he gave me a 3 month prescription for doxy, 200mg x 2 a day, that was enough to carry me through until my appt. with a LLND, in one months time, (I had to come off the doxy, it was making me sicker). My GP admits he knows nothing about treating lyme but knew enough that 2 weeks of doxy wasn't enough!

Treating Lyme and its co-infections is both a science and an art. You really want a doctor who has been trained to do this, has experience and is associated with the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). It is important that you are treated properly and thoroughly so that your symptoms don't come back later down the road.
