At what stage in treatment do you go the IV route? If you are feeling better just with oral should you still supplement with IV to really hit it hard or stick with oral?

First check for how long your insurance company will cover it. In some states it is only for 30 days, and maybe up to 60 days if LLMD pushes enough. In my opinion it is not worth the hassles if all you will get is 30 days.

Also look at your deductibles. Under ObamaCare most of us are getting higher deductible plans before any coverage kicks in.

Also IM Rocephin may be an alternative. Its covered as a normal Rx copay and almost as effective. Google IM vs IV Rocephin to see some studies.

IM is Intra Muscular (like needle and syringe in the back side). Not as good as IV, but more affordable.
