I've been sick for 1 year with pain and stiffness, unrefreshed sleep, overwaelming sick feeling and lately some confusion. After many docs and a sleep study, I found a neurologist who diagnosed me with CFS and gave me anti-virals for EBV, stimulants so I could go to work and suggested supplements for midochondrial support. This did not really help and several months later I went to a chronic illness specialist put me on thyroid meds, cortical steroids, b12 injections, anti-fungal. None of this helped.
The neurologist said I did not have Lyme, he did western blot through labcorp and I had only 1 band 41 IGM (6 months ago).
My new doctor just got back the results from a viral panel and I still have high EBV but also mycoplasma, parvovirus, coxackie B and bands 23 IGM and 41 IGG (Quest)
My question is this... If I take the 41 IGM from before and combine it with the 24 IGM from now, that is 2 IGM's and a positive result??
He put me on Doxycycline 100mg twice daily and I'm feeling better after just a couple days. I'm so confused, he said I could spend the money and do Igenex test ($250) or go see our local Lyme Specialist ($450 initial visit).
I'm concerned that if it's Lyme, I'm not on enough Doxycycline. I've read that treatment is 200mg twice daily. I've already spent a fortune on out of network doctors and tests and am not sure how to proceed.
FYI- I also tested positive for Tricothescene myotoxins even though the mold study I had done found no stachybotris in my home. I'm now reading that this could be related to Lyme. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
