Sticking to the ILADS guide, I am in to start a new try on oral treatment because I feel so sick.
What will be the best choice in Borrelia burgdorferi?

Go for Amoxicillin or Doxy? Like the main agent i mean. They place Amoxi first in line in the guide.
My history tells about 6 periods of Doxy for the last 15 months, with some Flagl. So I have no experience of Amoxi.

I will try this until 4-6 weeks of symptom free (from the guide recommendation).

Not a LLD, just want to give the Oral one last chance and follow the supplements and so on before going IV.

Antibiotics have consistently shown to be effective at treating Lyme. Yes, some people with chronic Lyme have trouble ridding themselves of the infection but, it's not necessarily due to antibiotic resistance per se. It's more due to the fact that Borrelia "hide" in areas that are hard for antibiotics to reach (in the form of cysts). That's why some LLMD's rx cyst busters such as Flagyl and Tindamax.

The ILADS guidelines have helped doctors heal thousands of patients and it's clear that this is achieved through the use of antibiotics.

And, yes, people have healed by using antimicrobial herbals.

Yet others have healed by using combinations of both.

There's no one way to heal from Lyme. Everybody's body is different....and has different things going on....and responds differently to different treatment protocols.

I think its like this, when abx is present the spirochete go back digging tissue because they can not procreate when cell wall is not possible. And blood is cleaned up from them and one fell well. But they still is present but in tissues. They can dig, right?
Its really a waiting process, who have the longest patience.

Hi James,
I asked if you were working with an LLMD because it sounded like you are treating yourself. I hope you have someone overseeing your treatment.

It is a good idea to use oral antibiotics first. You might find that it takes more than 4-6 weeks, however. While IV antibiotics can help some patients see results, many have trouble with their PICC lines etc.

Do you have any co-infections (other tick borne diseases)? That can complicate treatment.

Hi achieving grace can u tell me what antibiotics you started withi am on ceftin and next adding zinthromax do i need a cyst buster also my dr statet ceftin was the best thankyou jennifer

I've been treated so long and it has been confused by multiple allergies to antibiotics.

I know I started with doxycycline but switched over to zithromax because of allergic reaction. But since then I have had Rifampin, clarithromycin, malarone, mepron, and flagyl (not altogether but often in pairs). And now I am taking clindamycin with tindamax.

My antibiotics have always been combined with herbs (pulsed); oregano extract, artemisinin, black walnut, and other supportive supplements.

I cannot take Ceftin. Many LLMD's have their "favorite" antibiotic and often have a sequence of them that they find effective.

Hi James,
If you choose to use Amoxicillin, please read Burrascano's "Advanced Topic in Lyme Disease" (link can be found in the "New to Lyme?" thread) - he's one of the founders of ILADS and knows his stuff. He says that in order for Amox to be effective, it has to be combined with Probenecid. Otherwise I would suggest you go with the Doxy if you can't get both of those abx.
