I'm very emotional today, as it is my FIRST appointment with an LLMD. I am so beyond nervous, and I am just freaking out!

I'm excited because it didn't take me long to get an appointment, and I haven't been suffering long. However, I am worried that these diseases spread through me quite quickly in the past month and a half.

I read through questions to ask an LLMD in the New to Lyme? Post and wrote some questions down! Also I'm writing all my symptoms down. Having a hard time trying to get someone to go with me though. Everyone I know is sick or has work/school.

I'm asking her about my liver/gallbladder/spleen as well because I had a bizarre ct scan that showed some things. And have been having weird symptoms that I'm concerned about!

Just wanted to reach out to the community and say thank you! And possibly ask for prayers/good luck/and reassurance. Also, any advice would be awesome!

Also, I haven't tested positive for any infections yet (only did a Lyme titer through primary, hasn't come back). I just want to get started on treatments already! It's so hard to be patient.

Do you have a recorder on your phone? Ask the doc if you can record your conversation since no one could come with you to help you remember all the information. Don't be upset if they say no however, because they are all rightfully a bit paranoid about being persecuted for treating Lyme patients.

Take a notebook and a good pencil with you in case your doc says no to the recording of the visit.

If you are traveling far, be sure to take your lemon water and a snack - these visits are usually very wearing on us, especially the first one, since they are generally quite long.

Write down your questions, most of us end up not remembering to ask questions if we don't write them down because so much information is passed during these visits.

Ask about the best ways to get a hold of your doc. Some prefer email, some prefer phone calls. And be sure to find out what to do in an urgent situation where a trip to the emergency room might not be necessary, but getting a hold of your doc might be urgent.

Ask about the protocol - the treatment plans. It can really help alleviate a lot of anxiety down the road if you know that you will be starting off on low doses or switching abx soon. Each doc has their own ideas of how best to treat these infections, so it's best to hear it from them.

Ask about different co-infections and if you will be treating for them.

And you will have to find your patience - this is a slow going process, unfortunately. It's a very complex bacteria that creates a very complex infection and usually affects many parts of the body that now must be corrected.

Lastly, don't forget to tell us how it all goes as soon as you are up to it! We do like hearing about each others treatments!
