I've had oral thrush for a month now. I've taken liquid nystatin, but it hasn't helped. What else can I do?

I don't think I can take diflucan because it's harsh on the liver and I'm currently on rifampin, which is also harsh on liver.

Have you tried all the natural home remedies?

These are some things that have worked for me:

Brush your teeth and your whole mouth really thoroughly. Rinse and gargle with salt water and then chew a probiotic capsule (Yum). Do this several times a day. Make sure to clean your tooth brush each time -- like soak in alcohol.

If you like to use mouth wash, make sure to use a probiotic capsule or other probiotic source afterwards to replace the beneficial organisms. Otherwise, you are just leaving your mouth open for the yeast to come back.

Take a homeopathic remedy like Azo Yeast to get it systemically (the yeast is probably throughout your system). Natural remedies like Pau d'Arco, caprylic acid and Grapefruit seed extract are very helpful. There is a Pau d'Arco tea that is good.

Do all those remedies for at least a week.

I hope you get some relief soon.

How do u know the coating on ur tongue is candida? From what i hear a buildup microbes show on ur tongue.i thought mine was thrush, but alternative looked at it and said it was parasites b/c it had a slightly yellow tinge.... I think to answer get better on the inside.

I'm not sure if it helps with thrush but I'd assume so... Try oil pulling? It'd really good for mouth health and detoxing. I think oregano and Apple cider vinegar and garlic are good for dealing with yeast but you'd have to double check. Also using a tongue scraper if you're not already.

Before I used difflucan, which wiped it out in a few days, I found this home remedy, sounds crazy, but it did work, however it makes your mouth a bit numb.

1/2 teaspoon milk of magnesia with 1/2 teaspoon of generic liquid benadryl. Swish all through your mouth up to 4x daily; do not swallow.
