Mine was oval, and a long time ago.
I was symptomatic at the time, shaking in the Drs office and in pain, but was not D'xed back then since it was not round. I have seen pics of oval EM rashes since then - not uncommon apparently.
And some get infected after a while and look like a leaking poison ivy rash- seen this on Iliads site I think?

I haven't had any type of Bulls eye rash, but wanted to post some pictures for others to see in case they weren't sure:

ACA rashes:
I have had the ACA (Acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans) rash, which comes with chronic Lyme for some:

Good post, Astroman! Thank you. It was time to cover this again!

I had a rash on my hands that looked like the ACA rash. It's not
open wounds anymore but the skin is still different .
I also got a perfect little bullseye rash on my knee when I got bit years ago. It was the size of... like a quarter with a coffee cup size ring around that.

I've been wondering about
this too!
As far as I know, I never had a rash from initially getting Lyme. In fact, there was a while I started thinking I might have Lyme, but since I never saw a "bullseye" rash, I assumed it was impossible. I didn't know anything then yet, and everybody always said you HAD to have a bullseye rash to have Lyme.
The last few months though, I have been having some rashes or strange skin issues. My LLMD just clinically diagnosed me with Bartonella and said that can also cause the skin issues/rashes.
Has anybody had skin/rash issues with Bart? What were your experiences?

I've had the Bart rashes - the typical ones with the red scratch looking things. They would come and go throughout my treatment.

I had the long squigly purple lines that look like bart rash pics. Not raised, no itching. So, I think its bart.
Thus "cat scratch fever".
bart and lyme symptoms overlap so unless you test pos for bart, I dont know how you can be sure.?

I think a good and very experienced LLMD can be pretty sure if it sounds like Bartonella. Testing for Bart is very unreliable...
At my last appointment with my LLMD he said there are some symptoms that are very specific to Bart, so I do think you can be pretty sure with the right doctor.

A Bart rash is a sure sign of Bart!

variations of lyme EM rash:

"Erythema chronicum migrans: (one or more) Image
May appear as a bull's eye rings, blotch, patch, eczema, hives, welts, malar, sun burn like, or poison ivy like rash and on dark skins may resemble a bruise. "

Never had the Bull's Eye rash.
Also never had the Bartonella rash, but am clinically diagnosed w/ Bart.
BTW, my understanding is that the reason Bartonella is called "Cat Scratch Fever" is because the textbook acute version of the disease is a high fever after being scratched by a cat. Cats' claws are really filthy (consider what they do in the litter box...)...

I don't know what my rashes mean. I never had a bulls-eye. But throughout 2013 when I was on various rounds of various abx and steroids, which flared all of my very specific lyme & co sx, which led me to my dx… I was developing these small 1" oval dark red purple lesions (a little raised but no itching or peeling or pain). They popped up on my shins, ankles, groin, under bra line and on back. They were pretty static for about
9 months then when I started BW formulas they started to fade.
Then, I noticed after starting abx the large 3"x4" spot on my calf, just slightly mottled —nothing raised—started to fade as well.
I cannot find images of these lesions online (except for the mottled thing). I asked my LLMD what they were and she just shook her head and said—Bart does weird things.

I had a bullseye rash on my ankle with the perfectly circular ring about
2cm in diameter. It lasted for 3 weeks and the middle part also got infected and blistered. I went to the doctor but he said Lyme didn't exist and that was that..
I've also broken out in hives once but I'm not sure if it's related to Lyme

My daughter had a blood spotted rash all under her arm where I got the tick off. The LLMD said that meant this was probably not the first time having lyme. Interesting I thought.

AriaBear -
My oval rash of 5" wide also developed blisters in the center 3" after a few days. The center looked like poison ivy but did not itch like poison ivy. The blistering took 1 month to heal and left a light scar too, from 25 yrs ago, wierd.

I never got a bulls eye rash. Don't even think I got my infections from a tick but I'll never know for sure. Terrible if you are trying to figure out what is actually going on with yourself.
My bartonella only came out herxing.

My bull's eye rash was about
2-3" in diameter and it was on my forearm. It was reddish brown and looked like it was painted on--not oozing or raised. The pcp diagnosed it as ring worm and warned me not to touch it or scratch it. And that was easy because it never hurt or itched.
I had a first-time active case of Epstein Barr at the time, and when researching those symptoms online, I found out about
Lyme disease. And many pictures of bull's eye rashes were identical to mine. This really made sense, as I live on a farm with horses, ponies, dogs and a cat, plus numerous uninvited critters, and I've had lots of ticks attached over the years.
Have any of you ever wondered if you had a bull's eye rash in your scalp or on your back or on the back of your leg and never saw it?

I keep getting this red, patchy, splotchy, dry & itchy rash on my arms. I also have tons of spider veins on my legs & feet. I know spider veins can be a normal thing for many people, so it's hard to know if they have any significance or not...but they did seem to just appear and blow up this last year of me being sick.
They are reddish/purplish color and little squiggly veins everywhere. I know many sources connect this to Bartonella, but since these can also be normal, how do I know if it's significant or just a weird coincidence? Anyone else have this??

I had a tiny red pimple on my abdomen from which I removed the blasted nymph deer tick that gave me Lyme.
