I decided after 6 months (wow that's a long time) on abx to re-do lyme tests. I did Stonybrook and igenex. I got my Stonybrook results the only band seen was igg 45.
My original igenex test 6 months ago had igm 18, 83-93 positive and 31, 41 indeterminate. Don't know what's causing what anymore.

I stopped all abx and supplements bec I have the mist horrible small fiber neuropathy. I started to develop ear neuro pain that bacame progressively worse, and I was forced to listen to my body. Oddly B vitamins cause neuropathy to be even worse!! I did 23 & me and am heterogeneous for mthfr a.. Gene. Also Comet gene homogeneous. I bought mythcoblin b12 injections, methofolate, and b6( can't remember active name of b6), but feel the b vitamins are stirring up my nerves.

I detox the best I can but my neuropathy is really at its worst when on abx.

Any suggestions?? Sorry for spelling.. So tired.

I went to stonybrook too - it is better than most tests, but still not as accurate as igenex. I used stonybrook and came out with a false negative bc I had taken antibiotics only weeks prior - and from what I have read, abx affect the test results. My dr clinically diagnosed me with lyme, and treated me promptly (I was on abx for 7.5 months). I had major nerve issues too. are you currently under the care of an LLMD?

I stopped abx for 10 days in order to re-do the Western blot, then out of no where I got strep and had to restart abx. I was on abx for about a week when I did the labs.

I see an LLMD in CT. We actually emailed each other back in the summer. I gave you the lyme support group contact in Long island.

Many of my lyme symptoms have improved...but periferal neuropathy has gotten so much worse. I actually feel that my body was not detoxing the abx and I was getting toxic from the abx.

I did 23 & me and have a bunch of things to address. Many of the vitamins and minerals that help nervse heal I can not take based on my 23& Me results.

Funny before I took the DNA test I thought I was just imaging the horrible reaction I had to b12 and b6 and ALA.

Now that I stopped abx again 14 days now my p.n. feels somewhat manageable. The p.n began to burn on a much deeper level, even on my face,my whole body felt p.n. pain.

I do take some herbal meds. I just need to slow things down some.

stopping abx for 10 days isn't long enough for sure. you need to stay off them for weeks before the labs don't get affected.

we did?? did your email change? bc I looked it up in my email list and didn't see it there, so I assumed we never wrote to eachother. so sorry for my forgetfulness, but I am in contact with so many forum members, I lose track sometimes. Now that you emailed me again - I know who you are - wont forget this time!! =)

you were not taking levaquin or cipro were you? bc they can definitely cause peripheral neuropathy. I was getting pn from doxycycline. couldn't handle the 400mg/day dose.
