Woke up yesterday with a sore throat. Woke up today with sore throat, stuffed ears, stuffed nose, sinus pressure, zero energy, and chest congestion. I Even left work early to sleep.

Now I haven't had a head cold in a while I thought we lyme people couldn't get sick? Haha Soo is this a good thing?

How is that a good thing? I believe we can get sick with cold and viruses like everyone else if not even more than anyone else due to our immune system becoming so overwhelmed with bacterial infections plus everything else. I don't see anything good in it.

I read some where that people with lyme don't get colds because their immune system is too preoccupied with the lyme bacteria. So I thought it was maybe a good thing since having a cold is healthy immune responce

Actually, for many of us, because our immune systems are so overwhelmed, we often don't develop symptoms to colds. It's usually only when our immune system begins to recover that we can get quite ill -because our immune systems are still struggling, but functioning. The best thing to do is to treat your cold the best you can and do work on raising your immune function more.

Interesting, Trav! I haven't been sick until last spring. I got really sick, like sleeping all day sick! COme to think of it, I haven't been sick much any other times in 4 years. Not sure how it works! This winter so far besides some caughing for a few days, didn't get sick. But I thought is because of high vit C doses. Oh, well, I will never figure it out LOL Better not to get sick and the reason is secondary because I won't figure it out anyway LOL

If you have a lowered immune response, your cold symptoms will be much more severe, and more likely to develop complications.

My LLMD last year told me I couldn't get sick and then the next day I was sick but didn't seem to last long. But 2 years ago I got laryngitis, followed by severe fatigue, that lasted from mid Oct till mid Dec when I finally got a steroid shot and I snapped out of it. Didn't know I had Lyme.
