Adrenal Tumors and Mold infection, Lyme?

My LLND diagnosed me with a mold infection recently and I will be starting on a compound tomorrow. I have stopped all Lyme herbals, because I was herxing SO bad. She feels we need to deal with the mold first, possibly two years of treatment before we deal with the Lyme.

Now my Endocrinologist has tested my adrenal functions. The blood test came back positive for elevated levels of metanephrine. This is a possible indicator of adrenal tumors. The associated condition is called Pheochromocytoma.

He tested me for this because of some of my more unusual symptoms. I have been producing extreme levels of mucous for a number of years. I developed non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy a few years ago, and last summer I developed Tachycardia (hear rate is rarely below 110, often in 130's and 140's), even though my heart is healthy and strong.

I have to do a 24 hour urine test to confirm the presence of the tumor(s). If positive surgery is required as the disease may reult in death.

Could any of this have a relationship with Lyme? Very curious to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I agree - all of those issues could have started with the mold/Lyme combination. As to which you got first, it's a toss up, but combined, they are difficult to treat. While I agree that you should concentrate on the mold infection first, you should still be on some kind of treatment (low) for the Lyme infection if it is truly going to take that long.

If you are herxing horribly, that can be a good indicator of having gene mutations that can make detoxing very difficult for the body. What all are you doing for detoxing?

You should likely get tested for the MTHFR gene mutations as well. If you have these, there are things you can do to help correct the situation so your body will detox easier.

Hopefully as you get further down the road with your mold treatments you will be able to start Lyme treatments at a very low dose or switching to a different protocol might be helpful too. It's so all up in the air with all of these things!! I'm so sorry!

Lyme disease1, I was not offended at all. I appreciate your taking the time to comment at all. I am just frustrated with all of this. And of course the MD's don't believe in the Lyme or the mold. Five years ago, I only took a multivitamin. I can't count how many pills I take now.
