Neuro herx from abx?!?

Hello Mylyme, What is probably happening is a case of mistaken identity. As the Flagyl does what it does best, cyst busting, the material the bacteria has gathered around itself to form the cyst is released into the blood stream.

Your immune system attacks the bacteria, but because the bacteria wrapped itself in whatever it could find -- often material from your own nerve sheaths -- it misidentifies the enemy and starts to attack your nerves.

So you will probably find you have this kind of experience each time you pulse the Flagyl. It will be resolved over time. As distressing as these experiences are, just try to remember it is temporary.

If you aren't already detoxing, do that, or more. Nerve detox agents such as Pinella can be helpful.

MyLyme - I have a lot of nerve symptoms. Burning, nerve pain; sharp shooting pains in arms, legs, feet, toes; partial numbness that migrates to different areas; tingling; vibrations in my body.

Sounds like maybe the Flagyl is working on the cysts? Is this the first cyst buster you've been on?

I completely relate to your experiences and understand your concerns

The symptoms are quite disconcerting, to say the least.

Before we received the Igenex results, my LLMD clinically diagnosed me with Lyme due to the mild Bells Palsy he observed. Neither I nor my family had noticed it....until I repeated at home the cheek-puffing my LLMD had me do in his office. It was then we saw the facial weakness on my left side.

I really had no other symptoms at the time except a weird neurological-type feeling in one toe...and a sense of fluid retention in both legs. Both issues came and went.

Once I started treatment, it was a whole new ball game with LOTS of symptoms - mostly neurological.

Yeah, I had the leg weakness (left side for me) that made it tough for me to walk sometimes and definitely made it hard to maintain balance.

I had my hands go numb/weak at times.....and the Bells Palsy would come and go or some variation thereof.

I'd have to review my symptoms journal for a complete reminder about the various nerve issues I had but I definitely had an assortment....and they always came and went.

Thankfully, most of them seem to be part of my past.

As of right now (3 wks. into Cowden), I deal with less frequent and less intense buzzing sensations and tapping sensations. (they used to be internal vibrations and poking sensations).

There were a couple of times after a antimicrobial dose that I'd have ever-so-slight numbness and following the Cowden detox instructions (10 drops each burbur and pinella every 10 minutes for up to 2 hrs) took care of things.

I consider all of my experiences to be herxes.....only because increased detoxing makes them better.

In my earlier days of treatment, increased detoxing didn't eliminate certain symptoms but it definitely helped them.

Perhaps you might find more ways to detox.
