side affects from oral Rifampin?

I've been breaking out in blisters on my fingers so far. My skin is very fragile for some reason. I have to be careful not to use my hands in any cleaning what so ever. I was washing in the sink this morning and a blister just popped for no reason...i didn't even know it was there until i felt the skin rip.

Has anyone else had or have this problem? Is it a side affect from Rifampin?

I read the side affects and blistering is one of them...im worried if thats a sign to get off of Rifampin. I see my llnd soon but im still a bit worried in the mean time.

The only side effects that I had from rifampin were insomnia, sweating, and anxiety.

I would call your pharmacist.

The side effects I have are insomnia, hot flashes and chills, but the hot flashes and chills have settled down a bit and if I take a couple muscle relaxers I can get 5 hrs of sleep. Also urine turns orange for about 12 hrs.

Try using rubber gloves and see if it helps.

I had the insomnia too, in the beginning. Then the hot flashes and chills and the orange urine. That's always fun! I've never had an issue with the skin any time I've taken it, but I agree with everyone. Call your doctor or pharmacist and let them know right away.

I have no side effects except for orange pees and red poos. I don't have insomnia either. I am taking milk thistle and able to tolerate it really quite well.

No skin blistering either... Is it possible that the bartonella are dieing off for you and creates blisters? I know bart made me have really dry skin.
