Hello everyone
I'm looking for a LLMD in the UK. They seem to be few and far between. Googling doesn't provide much info. If anyone has personal experience with a UK Lyme literate doctor, I would love to know!
Thanks!

Although I live in Canada, I have a relative, friend who went to the Breakspear clinic in Hemel Hempstead. He is now ok. Have you checked them out. Do not know what their fees are like.
Sorry I cannot be of more help. Maybe some fellow Brits will chime in here......

Unfortunately, the few doctors who were treating Lyme are now no longer allowed to. There is a denial that chronic Lyme exists here. Apart from the lucky few, most people test negative using the NHS tests - even those people who have positive tests from overseas. They are told that the overseas tests are giving false positives!
For those with an NHS positive test, the standard treatment is two weeks of 100mg Doxycycline two times a day
There is the private clinic - but it is very expensive. A few people are lucky to have supportive GPs who are willing to help them. Some people travel to Belgium or US for treatment. No help seems to be offered to the rest - other than, often, a CFS/ME diagnosis.
I've found the Lyme Disease UK Discussion Group on Facebook to be very helpful. There's a yahoo group, Eurolyme, which might be helpful too (though I've not used that one).
Hoping you'll find someone to help.

Hi quilty and celeste15
Thanks for the info. I have seen the Breakspear clinic and I wondered if that might be the only option. I'll certainly look on facebook and eurolyme.
Many thanks

Hi lechatster
I'm in Begium and have some information. Could you please email me so that I can give you the requested information.
Also, it would be better if you enabled your emailaddress 'my Profile', 'Edit Profile', 'Show Emailaddress'. We are not allowed to put dr's names on the forum, visible for everyone. Once you enabled your email (you could create a new emailaddress if you're hesitant about
posting the one you have now), people will be able to reach you through pm.
We have a member, Morti81, from the UK. You could also contact him as he has a lot of information. This is his emailaddress mortimer_hugh@yahoo.co.uk
