does anyone take doxycycline & coumadin?

I want to start doxycycline 100mg twice daily for 14 days to begin treating lyme but I am on 6mg of coumadin daily & doxy may increase the effect of the coumadin. I am 25,female, poor health for the past 9 months. Suggestions?

I've been on 7.5 mg of coumadin for years. Took two months of doxy 100mg bid. It wasn't a problem. I think my INR went up a bit so every 3-4 days I'd take a slightly reduced coumadin dose. I recommend getting your INR checked about 4 days after you start doxy and that will give you an idea of how they are interacting.

Thank you, ArkansasLyme!! My hubby's never used Doxy while on coumadin! All I knew is that it can increase the effects of the coumadin.
