Warning and Question: Where's the Best Place to Order Supplements..Problems with Amazon???

Hi Everyone!

First, I want to warn everyone to be careful ordering supplements from Amazon. I received some Nutramedix Parsley a while back that did not seem legit. It seemed way to clear. The Burbur and Pinella also looked a little off.

I just received some Renew Life probiotics that don't look right at all. The coloring is off. The capsules are different sizes. So, be careful. I'm going to return them since they are through Amazon directly.

I think I'm done with ordering from Amazon-all but for the most basic supplements. I don't want to have to wonder whether what I'm taking is counterfeit or not. I have seen some warnings from others on this issue. I have even looked for bad feedback and called a manufacturer on one product. Most of the stuff I have ordered seemed legitimate, but I don't like not knowing whether I can rely on them. Too much fishy business going on! shakehead

Anyway, I'm going to place another order. I have some stuff in my shopping cart at Vitacost. Is this a good place to shop? I have never ordered from them. Their prices look mostly good to fair with some stuff being a little pricey.

Does anyone have suggestions on where to shop? Thanks! I hope you all are doing well and send my best to everyone! smilewinkgrin

I have been ordering all of mine from Emerson Ecologics. So far they have had all of the supplements that my ND has recommended. My husband is a Chiropractor so he has an account with them which makes the price a bit less. Anyone can create an account with them but I think the prices are better if you order under a provider. Even if you have to pay the higher cost at least you know you are getting legit high quality supplements.
I have ordered from vitacost and PureFormulas in the past. No complaints with either. Good Luck :)

My doctor recommend iHerb and it's worked for me. Amazon is usually good but you're right, it can be hit or miss with stuff like that. I've also used PureFormulas.

Most of the way down on page 1 of the "New to Lyme?" thread has a list of companies that other members have had good experiences with ordering online with. Many are for herbs, but there are others that supply supplements as well.

I order a lot from iHerb - they have a lot of supplements that I take.
And they've been pretty quick, considering they are travelling to B.C., Canada.

I saw some negative reviews on iHerb. So, it helps a lot to know that you have ordered from them without any issues. I appreciate the feedback! Sarah, I will also check out PureFormulas.

Thanks Jillbob and Trav! It helps to know other sites that are good so I don't have to stress over my orders. I don't mind paying a little more to have peace of mind. I will check them out too. Thanks. :)

i used to order mine from VITAHEALTH in NYC - they ship out right from the pharmacy. They are definitely legit. not sure of your location, but i am sure they would ship to any state.

I just started using iherb... i like the fact that they are a trusted Google source... Google sent me an email saying that they would "protect" orders up to a thousand bucks... that's my experience so far... for what its worth.

Amazon is a good place to get your supplements if you can take the time to research the seller. I like using Amazon any time they have a lower price for something that I have already researched.

And bonus - they will give a small percentage (0.5%) to a charitable group of your choice - and they have several tick-borne sites that you can donate to!!
