Where are you from? When did you get infected? Current treatment?

I know I read something about not being able to conduct surveys on here. But I was wondering if I could create a post and ask where everyone is from (doesn't have to be exact location but like their state), how long they've been infected or in treatment and what their current treatment is or what has worked for them. I know everyone is different but I'm just curious. This is all if people are willing to share the information, of course. It's comforting to hear stories and know you're not alone. (if that makes sense)

I didn't want to post it if it was frowned upon.

Yes, that's allowed. Every once in a while someone comes along and likes to ask. And I'll go ahead and start!!

I'm in northern Arkansas, but have traveled all over the Midwest and Western states collecting infections (LOL!). I had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever at the age of 7, Bartonella at age 8 and Lyme arthritis show up at age 9. So I went 37 years before being diagnosed, and 40 years before finding effective treatment for me.

I used abx for 1 yr (2007), was an abx failure, and switched to herbs only for healing (2010). I was in treatment for 1 year for Lyme and Bart and 1 year for Babesia and the rest of the infections that I had were treated somewhere along the way.

I was reinfected with Lyme last summer(2014), went back on the same herbs that healed me last time and I am now healed from that as well.

I am still in treatment for severe adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism.

I think I posted this before, but I will again. I am in Southeastern Wisconsin. I have been infected for about 8 years, I think. I was really sick sense September 2012. It took me 2+ years and several doctors to figure out what was wrong. I was diagnosed in November of 2014. I had 10 weeks of 3 different abx, one at a time. Then I switched to herbs per my TCM doctor. So I have been treating for 6 1/2 months. I am not fully healed, but I am getting better every week. I turned a corner when I started the IR sauna.

I'm in Central Pa ... got sick with "flu" (even tho i had my first ever flu shot this year)... did not ever get back to normal.

Started researching my symptoms...ran across Lyme Master List of Symptoms... began writing them down (extensive list)... then realized that it would be much easier to write down the symptoms that i did NOT have.
Then i Googled Lyme in Pa... and found this little tidbit:

For the past five years, Pennsylvania has reported the most Lyme disease cases nationwide. The infection can cause fever, fatigue, headache, muscle aches and joint pain. The study says blacklegged ticks also can transmit the parasite causing Babesiosis, which can cause anemia and potentially be fatal. I have all of those symptoms and more... OH... i got sick on my birthday 4/13/2015 (last month).

My research has led me on a roller coaster of craziness... brainfog has made it difficult to process info correctly...reading and re-reading...and still not retaining...lots & lots of notes.

I thought i had finally developed a game plan... after reading about another forum member(s) protocol... but something still did not feel right... i have discovered that my instincts work well when i listen to that inner gnawing feeling.

And then i read something from a book that i ordered from Dr Jernigan
about getting the ammonia out of your system...being the most important step to take... i had already realized that i had ammonia in my system from reading a thread on this forum.

So i ordered the product to remove ammonia... can't think of name right now... but it should arrive any day.

I also ordered a infrared sauna... should arrive any day.

I do think that i need to see a LLMD... and could have used the "sauna money" for that... but it felt right to order the sauna now.

I ordered the supplies for dry brushing and detox bath also...they have arrived... but i have not started yet.

I am ordering a filter for my shower today... and a food dehydrator...and an ice cream maker...for home-made frozen yogurt.
*my roommate gave me 250.00 bucks in Sears gift cards as a belated Birthday present yesterday... He also paid half the price for the sauna... because he can use it after he goes to the gym. :)
*He is willing to help me purchase some of the things that i need...because he is benefiting also... He is now purchasing mostly organic stuff for himself as well... He has his own kitchen,livrm,bath...its a great roommate setup. Might be TMI...but i just think its cool that he is on board with this... and making good choices for himself.

I have been drinking alot of filtered water, and eating mostly fruit & a bit of vegie (organic)... Black tea w/lemon and ginger... A bit of coconut oil...
and twice indulged in a quart of keifur frozen yogurt.. *have been researching how to make my own... And fermented fruits & vegies... And Keifer tea... Gonna make a big mess in the kitchen... just waiting for a stronger energy day... i had one good day last week... the it all came back... its like being forced to ride a roller coaster. (don''t like them)

My MD is clueless (or acts clueless)... i have not said the word Lyme to him... he said that he wants to monitor me closely... to drink alot of fluids...have seen him twice since last month...My CBC/Urinalysis came back normal except for anemia...he also ordered ultrasound on my stomach because it was tender...going to do that tomorrow...and see him after test results come back.

I think the ultrasound is ridiculous... because my whole body is tender... But... I am going to play his game for now... because i might need him for something? ... until i see LLMD.

Oh... and i ordered Bentonite and Green Vibrance... but haven't started taking it yet... it arrived as i was reading about removing the ammonia.

Oh... and i just found out in another thread... that Pa just passed a medical marijuana bill... researching that... very interested in that route.

I tried Kombucha (<spelling?) today for the first time... tasted horrible to me... could force only 1/4 of bottle down... gonna use it for recipes.

I think that's kinda it... so far.

Long winded yes... and maybe kinda confusingly random? I dunno...
I just let my fingers do the talkin...cuz my mind is like sludge.

I did research them... found a youtube video ... someone tested two brands with EMF meter... this one was the best i could do with my budget... i feel ok with this choice for now.

Oh... i forgot to say... my MD has me taking Clariton and Aleve... on top of vicoden&lyrica that i already take for spine deformity (traumatic spondylilothesis) and nerve damage... the chronic pain may qualify me for medical marijuana (bill was passed this month)... and PTSD is on the list of conditions that qualify (which i have as diagnosis already...from massive emotional trauma-a few years ago)...

So I'm kinda lucky... God that made me laugh out loud.

Humor is also a big part of my recovery :)

I live in Chicago and started really feeling the Lyme symptoms in 2009. After numerous doctor visits, 2 trips to mayo clinic, trip to New York to see MD (no help), I was told about Igenex test and it came back positives in 2011. I believe I got bit back in 1996 when a 'mosquito' cause an infection in my leg where I had to be hospitalized. I also have Rocky Mountain spotted fever, bartonella, mycoplasma and erlichia along with mold issues. I've done IV ozone, hyperbaric, TMS along with countless antibiotics, herbals and supplements. Many symptoms have gotten better, but my brain and the inflammation seems to just get worse.

Alyrose did you happen to go to a support group meeting in Elgin tonight? I have been wanting to go but haven't made it yet. What suburb are you from?

Runnergirl82- yes, at Sherman hospital. It was very moving and helpful. I grew up in Schaumburg. But I currently live in both Hoffman estates & streamwood. I think the next meeting is in June, you should try and go. It's soooooo helpful to be face to face with other people going through some of the same stuff.

I live in Southern NH, little corner of the state near the boarders of NH,VT and MA. I was born and raised in VT and that is where I lived when my symptoms began.  I do not recall ever being bitten by a tick. I never had the bulls eye rash, or at least I didn't have it anywhere where I could see it.  My symptoms really started to surface in March 2012, post sinus surgery, and now looking back, I did have a few random symptoms prior to March and we never figured out what was causing them. I was officially dx with Lyme and Babesia a little over 2 weeks ago. I finally broke down and paid to have labs done with IGenex.

I have been seeing a ND for treatment. So far she is taking it easy on me because she knows that me being out of work is not an option. I just started my job in October.  I am a RN working for the federal government. It took FOREVER to get this position. I CANNOT give it up. Plus, we couldn't survive without my income. Most days I wake up not knowing how I am going to make it through the day but every day I seem to do it. Life is hectic, 4 children under the age of 4 and both my husband and I work full-time.  I did post a thread a little over a week ago titled "Treatment Plan", I wrote out everything my ND has be doing. I am scheduled to see a LLND in my area, she is registered with ILADS, on 06/19/2015. I have a coworker who is currently being treated by this LLND, for Lyme and a few people I know have either been treated by this LLND or know someone who has been treated by her. She comes highly recommended. I wish the appt was sooner but waiting until June 19th beats traveling hundreds of mile to see a LLMD or LLND. I am just so anxious to get my life back. I REFUSE to let this illness tear my family apart.
