When my daughter Heather was very sick, i devised my own combination detoxing methods to help to make her feel somewhat better. Later, when we took her to the Hansa Center, I discovered that Dr. J. also used a combination of detoxing methods that synergistically helped their patients. Of course, everyone may have a certain combination of particular detoxing methods that works best FOR THEM.

Dr. Mercola has an informative article based on the research and methods of George Yu, MD. Dr. Yu has developed his own protocol that he uses to detox Gulf War veterans and 911 firefighters. In both instances, these people have been exposed to very toxic substances that have been stored in their body fat. He has found that his protocol is effective in removing these toxins from their body.

Dr. Yu's technique parallels that of the physicians at the Hansa Center. He uses niacin, exercise, and sauna. Hansa uses antitox products, exercise, and various mechanical devices such as Ionic foot Detox, FIR sauna, Lymphatic Vibrational Plate, and other detox equipment. The point is that a combination approach has been found to be most effective.

Heather was encouraged to swim as much as her system could bear. Even the most debilitated patient was encouraged to walk for a short distance, if that was all that they could do. When Heather was at her most debilitated , and could not walk, we stood her up on a trampoline, and held her up. We had positioned the mini trampoline along a wall so that she could help to balance herself. We helped her to bounce for just a few minutes. Exercise should be for ALL lymies, although the intensity will widely vary. The point is to get the blood flowing, and body heat generated. Summer is an excellent opportunity to get the blood and sweat flowing!

Great links... I Luv Mercola & Dr J... and agree with making some kind of effort
even when your dizzy... i will "walk the walls" and the hallway towards my roommates
side of the house... because its fairly narrow.... i can hold both walls while walking...

Its my way of letting my muscles know... "we are not giving up here"

The infra sauna just arrived this morning... so i will be starting that on Monday...
I want to get some things done this weekend before starting my deeper detox
program... which is based on Dr J's book... and my particular issues.

I have been preparing myself...making necessary changes along the way... so
that it is not such a shock to my body when i go deeper... so glad for all the great
info that folks share on this forum!

Don, Dr J and I are having a unique conversation right now. I am telling him things he does not know, he is telling me things I do not know. I believe we will both benefit greatly from it and so will the patients he treats.

Great discussion-most all of us could use more detox. I do most of the things mentioned here. One easy piece to add is taking chlorella daily.

Heathersdad-When you were getting your daughter to exercise did she have increased fatigue but finally get over the plateau? I know I'm better off than most-work a 40 hr week job but still have no energy on the weekends or weeknights to do anything fun. It's work, rest, work, rest, etc. I use to be an athlete played soccer for 15 years and would run 2-3 miles on my lunch breaks as an adult. Since lyme I've tried to do 10 minutes of walking and I am beyond tired the next day. I really need to push myself for a whole week I suppose I just get discouraged when it feels like I've run a marathon the next day.

Hi Gingeranne, I was super active before Lyme too. I'm trying to get back to that. Something I think helps for me is to alternate different exercises. One day walking, one day yoga, one day kayaking. This is working better for me than trying to be the gym rat/runner I used to be.

Bellyfull- glad you liked the links. Good luck with your detoxing! That's very creative of you to use the hallway to hold yourself up while you wobble down the hall! You've got to start somewhere. It will pay off.

candleinthewind- yes, enjoy the nice warm weather and exercise!

Georgia Hunter- Both you and Dr. J. possess great traits that leads to the acquisition of knowledge and skills that will help both yourself and others. So many healthcare professionals seem to think that they know it all, but both of you are relatively humble about what you know, and yearn to learn more.

gingeranne- It was very slow going at first. We built up her endurance "very slowly". Eventually she started to relapse after treatment ended. We eased off of her workouts a lot at that point. Later we took her to the Hansa Center and Dr. J. opened up her "circuits". It was like turning on a light switch. He claims that when the "circuit(s) is turned "off" that everything on the nerve circuit only operates at 40% efficiency. In Heather's case it was quite dramatic how quickly her energy recovered. She contacted a local swim club in Wichita Kansas and was granted permission to swim at their practices for 2 weeks. She only swam for 1-1.5 hours at each practice at a moderate pace, but it was dramatically faster than what she was doing prior to going to the clinic.

bluebyyou- Keep up the good work by working out when the energy level permits!

Hi Heathersdad -

Couple of questions for you!

What did Dr. J do to 'open up her circuits'? I am very curious about this. Is this something that only he does or do other practitioners know how to do this?

Also can you give me your opinion of the vibrational plate and infared sauna as detox methods. There is an therapy center close to where I live that offer these items at $15 a session for each item. Have you seen these be effective treatments?

Yes, both the lymphatic vibrational plate and FIR sauna are excellent. They both detox from a different perspective, and both are powerful.

Hi HD/Don,

Yes, I am getting exercise. I am also doing other forms of detox, including sauna. Even though I tested negative for MTHFR (via blood test), Deplin helps me, along with Molybdenum, and can't remember the name of the other one.

As i watched the Youtube video, it jogged my memory of some of the things that Dr. J. did to "open" Heather's circuits. This will involve some details.

Years before Heather had been properly diagnosed with LD, she started having some major problems. Her conventional dentist's routine 6 month checkup x-rays revealed that all of a sudden that she had a malformed jaw. This caused her teeth not to touch at all except on one side on the back of her mouth. Only 2 teeth were touching. It was so severe that the dentist said that it was beyond the scope of orthodontics. We were referred to 2 surgeons that planned to fix the problemm by breaking her jaw and reshaping it with titanium plates and screws. We were horrified and got cold feet, thus stalling the surgery, even while the dentist was pressuring us to do it.

Three years later we went to the Hansa Center. On the first day there Dr. J. examined her mouth and told us about the problem with her jaw. Of course we already knew about it, but considered it a "dental issue". Her problem was throwing her body into a chaotic state and shutting down circuits. Her Ananomic Nervous System (ANS) was in a state of "fight or flight", i.e. specifically Parasympathetic Nervous System. He told us that he could temporarily help her, but that only a properly trained "Biological Dentist" could provide a long term solution. We later took Heather to a Biological Dentist that designed an "Oral System Balancing" (OSB) appliance that changed her jaw problem and occluded bite over a period of about 3 years. She also had CranioSacral Therapy after each appliance adjustment. This also permanently changed her chaotic ANS chaos to a normal state, and also served to normalize her immune system.

Dr. J. was however able to temporarily stabilize her ANS and open her circuits while we were at the clinic with CranioSacral Therapy, Myofasial Release, homeopathy, and other forms of bioenergetic treatments. He did a lot of things with lights, colors, sounds, magnets, cold lasers, and other things as well. I couldn't begin to tell you what specifically opened up circuits.
