Been on Doxy for 30 days, headaches on one side, dizziness, sore eye?

I have a question that I am hoping someone can help with. Today is day 30 of my Doxy intake (it's also my last because I ran out and I am fighting with my doctor about continuing it per ILADS.)

All my original symptoms that brought me to the doctor and got me a diagnosis of lyme after a positive western blot test have gone away. No more fever, no more fatigue, no more constant sweats, no more neck and joint pain............the only thing that continues to linger and seems to have gotten a bit worse in the last week is an off and on headache on the right side between my eye and my ear. there is a constant dull ache there, and then about 5 or 6 times a day it turns into a headache. along with the headache i get dizzy and sometimes a bit nauseous. the back of my eyeball seems to be sore quite often also.

i have been researching Doxy on numerous websites and I see that some of the side effects are headache, dizziness and nausea.

has anyone else experienced this and should I assume it's Doxy related or is this a sign of a co-infection? my doctor keeps looking at me like i have three heads when i ask her to test for co-infections, and i dont even know if testing is possible. should i consider going to the ER to have it checked out since my doctor is pretty much blowing it off?

Thank you gkamom. i spoke to someone this morning at a lyme group we have in our area who pointed me in the direction of a lyme literate herbalist (because i cant afford a lyme doctor because of insurance).

i just left a message with that person so hopefully i can atleast get on some herbal treatments before it gets any worse

oops. never had a rash and no memory of a tick bite. started with sudden symptoms one day....headache, fever, sweats, fatigue. after 4 days i went to my doctor thinking it was the flu. lyme test came back positive, then a week later the western blot test came back positive so my doctor gave me doxy to take twice per day 100mg total for 28 days.

all my original symptoms went away, i felt great for two weeks, then i believe i was herxing for the third week because i got REAL tired again and felt warm flashes. this week i feel real good again, lots of energy, except for this dull pain in the right side of my head that turns into a headache a few times per day. i took my last doxy this morning. my doctor just called and said that headaches and dizziness are a side effect of doxy.

just wondering if anyone else had this on doxy and if it goes away when you stop taking it.
