Mepron dosage

I haven't been on any babesia treatment yet..


I looked up what Dr. M.R. has in his guidelines...

He says start with 1 tsp twice daily. In a couple months if the babesia symptoms aren't improving, then increase the Mepron to 2 tsp twice daily.

This is combined with either doxy, mino, biaxin, or zithro.

I think I would contact your Dr. and confirm...that does seem high.

1 tsp is 5 ml. Do you think it's a mistake - gave you the metric amount instead of imperial?
Metric amount is 5 ml twice daily (according to Dr. M.R.) and if no results, 10 ml twice daily.

What Girlie said sounds to be on point...I have the Mepron bottle next to me right now and its the usual 750mg/5ml (--->5ml=1 tsp) twice a day. This is the standard. Holy cow, 5tsp twice a day would be wayyyy too much!

Good thing you caught that Sarah and had the knowledge to know better than to take that high of a dose.

I take 2 teaspoons twice a day so that does sound like an error.

BTW, I was told to take mine with a fatty snack to help increase absorption so that's my excuse to eat bacon for breakfast every day!
