Why does igenex test band 18 if it's not even specific to lyme and is "unknown"? I don't understand.....

That is a good question. I have my Igenex test result in front of me...and it's one that's tested, but it's not listed as part of a positive diagnosis... (not a 'double starred' band)
Hoping someone might know...

It's controversial still. Some say that although it's part of the tail of the bacteria, only Lyme has this part. Others don't agree.
The 'recognized' Lyme specific bands are changing as more and more research is being done.
