Toxicity and high blood ammonia levels

Hi All, I just found out that I have high blood ammonia levels. It's the first time I've had it checked. I am at 102 on a scale of 40 to 102, so just about to rip over. I've read on the Hansa site that high ammonia is almost universal with lume patients and that it is the worst toxicity offender. My question is whether anybody else has high ammonia also if it is supposedly universal and if so, have you found a successful way to bring it down? Thanks!

I haven't had my ammonia levels tested.

I second the url that Girlie gave you. Keepin ammonia levels under control is crucial. It can bring on some pretty nasty stuff besides hampering your lyme treatment. I take neurotox myself, helps a lot. There are others here that also take. Use the search function above to see what others experince has been

Some say yucca three times a day after meals works. I ordered some and should be be here today.

Eat less meat. It sounds simple, but the nitrogen on the protein isn't being metabolized fast enough.

Borrelia binds directly to fibrin and that is one way it hides from our immune response. Fibrin has more nitrogen in it than just about anything, and if our immune system is functioning well, it is my current belief that it can attack the Borrelia attached to the fibrin and disable it. This puts massive amounts of nitrogen in our blood that must be dealt with but even more important IMO is the increased acidity that occurs. Ammonia is produced as a buffer for this acid IMO. There is no current research showing this process happening and there is no research showing why ammonia is formed. I based my opinion on research and correspondence with a prominent lyme physician.

Yucca on the way as well as the Anti Neurotix.
When i ordered the neurotox by phone i asked how many drops each bottle has. I was told 4600 and that i should take 60 drops a day. Just curious how much you all take, a dropper full under the tongue or do you count drops into a glass of water? What works best.
Also going hard on the chlorella and am going on a green juicing diet. Im going to buy one of those nutribullets or juice ningas you see on TV. Haha. Thanks for the responses!

Hi all,

GH, as far as research is there research to show why some people who get constantly bit by ticks never get lyme disease? I don't think so. Is there research to why some people suffer from migraines and other's do not? Again, I don't think so.

What I do know are people who became so disabled from high levels of ammonia that it caused much harm to their livers, their brains, organs, etc. I know many of these people personally from years ago (about 15 years ago). One of those people is a friend of mine who did not eat meat and was misdiagnosed with fibro for over 30 years. She went to Hansa and Dr. Jernigan did not treat her for lyme (which she had) for the first 3 weeks but only treated her for her high levels of Ammonia which was causing her liver to shut down. She had temporary brain damage from those high levels of ammonia where her husband typed for her because she could not put words together and she used to be a school teacher. Okay, off my box!

Lymebean, I think the Neuro-Antitox is enough based on my own experience as well as others. I believe the recommended dosage is 30 drops 3 times a day (90 drops total). I actually counted the drops from the dropper that comes inside the bottle so I knew I was taking 30 drops.

If you don't have a problem with alcohol then I suggest putting it under your tongue, swish it around your mouth, then swallow. The reason for swishing in your mouth is to capture the toxins in your teeth.

My motto is to take 1 supplement at a time so one knows what is working for you and what is not. Once you start feeling better how would you know which supplement made you feel better? It would be a guessing game.

I believe Yucca Root does bind up ammonia but does not cross the brain barrier.

Anyway, good luck to you as I believe you made a wise choice and let us know how the Neuro-Antitox is working for you!!

I haven't seen any research like you are asking about. One problem is that research is often very specific and our problems are very complex. That is why one must often infer from multiple references to determine what is going on. I've talked with Dr J specifically about ammonia and the problems it causes.

As for why those things you asked about happen or don't happen, I think it's a combination of factors with the biggest being genetics and epigenetics. If ones methylation pathway breaks down, ammonia is a by product. If your pathway is functioning properly, you may have enough immune response to prevent Lyme infection.

A recent study between identical twins showed when one twin became autistic and the other one did not, it was due to epigenetic shifts and methylation differences. I feel this is the case with most diseases and problems we face.
