Hey guys ! I would like to know if your dr checks your sed rate? Markers for inflammation. If so what is your sed rate ? Being that you have Lyme I'm finally going to a Lyme specialist sept 10th. Thanks

Yes my Dr checks my sed rate and it is normal. My C4a (inflammation marker) is 77000. I just retested for it, hopefully it will be down some.

My sed rate and C-Reactive Protein were normal. I definitely had / have inflammation. I have read that you can't rely on the tests. I restarted turmeric and will probably restart Boswellia (I stopped a prescription anti-inflammatory.)

My Sed rate and CRP were checked once when my Dr. was testing me to try and figure out what was wrong with me. They were normal. I haven't had them tested again.

Lymie Girl - I take a supplement for inflammation with curcumin (active ingred. in tumeric) plus boswellia.

Girlie, which supplement do you take? My tumeric has olive leaf extract and black pepper. Tumeric with Boswellia combined are supposed to be more effective than either alone.

I don't know my set rate but my C-Reactive protein was abnormal. It just means inflammation in the body but is no more specific than that.

Lymie Girl - Mine is MEDI HERB - Boswellia Complex - but mine doesn't have the olive leaf and black pepper...
I did read the black pepper was good.

Thanks Girlie! I take the YouTheory Turmeric blend, which I bought at Costco. It seemed like a pretty good price. I have not compared it to other brands yet though. I tried the Solgar Boswellia.

I've had a SED rate of over 100, with a normal CRP. These markers are generic markers for inflammation in the body and don't really tell anything more specific than that (such as where the inflammation is, or why it is occurring).

Lyme plays havoc with the body's immune system, and then if you have other coinfections, then things really can get scrambled up. So these inflammatory markers may not be all that revealing in this setting...
