Is your body stiffness much greater in the morning, upon wakening? It wakes me up.

Relaxing on furniture in the evening, my body is more relaxed.

The longer I'm in bed at night, the stiffer I am in the AM. I was in bed 9 hours last night, slept about 7, I'm very stiff this morning. So lots of rolling on the foam roller and LaCross ball today.

So sleep is a catch 22 with me. I try my best to sleep longer (If I can) on weekend nights, but my back/hips/shoulders get stiff from laying there and will wake me up.

I am less stiff following light exercise, but I need non-exercise days in between since my muscle recovery is so delayed.

For me to sleep I need : 1) my brain needs to fall and stay asleep 2) I need to have a less pain night

So on average, I get about two nights per week of refreshing sleep.

Been this way for 25 years. I tried a memory foam mattress and hated it- I'd get stuck in it, cant roll over without a lot of effort and WAY to HOT. Waist of money in my opinion.

Wondering how common my sleep/pain pattern is here.

So its still a solid foam mattress (no springs). Latex foam though out? (except the movable top layers).

I sleep really good, always have. The only time I didn't is when I was herxing quite a bit.....

Not sure about my mattress, but, for me, my pillow rocks! it's one of those foam ones that keep the head in alignment with the spine....

Yes. Nights are miserable. My joints stiffen when lay still. I wake up a lot during the night because I hurt and need to move. I roll over and my shoulders pop. The day time I am not particulary stiff.

It's 3 layers of just latex and it fits into a cotton cover so it looks like a solid mattress. It's nothing like the foam mattresses and smells much better, just a very faint vanilla scent /savvyrest.com/ This is the one we got since we could try it out at a store. It's cheaper than some others too. I like the fact that we can change the firmness whenever we want to since our needs would change over the years.

Remember that these will last longer than a regular mattress, so you could have it for a long time, so the cost isn't so bad when you look at it that way. You might be able to pay over a period of time too.
