If it helps you feel any better, I had 2 super-minor and transient peripheral nervous system symptoms when I met my LLMD.
He clinically diagnosed me with Lyme due to the Bells Palsy I had that was so mild neither I nor my family noticed it until I repeated at home the cheek-puffing he had me do in his office. We then noted the facial weakness on my left side. CDC positive Igenex results confirmed his diagnosis.
I can tell you that I developed soooo many symptoms after I started abx - it was incredible to me.
But, that means the abx were doing what they're supposed to do: kill bugs.
The only way we can stay ahead of symptoms is to have an effective detox protocol in place and continually add to it.
Detoxing helps clear the toxins that the dead bug parts cause in our bodies.
A herx will last as long as it takes for you to clear those toxins.
That said, you might want to take another peek at the "New to Lyme" thread for some detoxing ideas. That thread contains a link to the following site that has quite the comprehensive list of detoxing methods:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlAnd, if the herx is just too much for you, it might not be a bad idea to do as Girlie suggested: back down on your dose of herbals (or even stop for a couple of days) until you get the herx under control.
Herxing is hard on the body and can delay healing since it increases inflammation.
We need to find a balance....and we can expedite our healing with an effective detox protocol.
Best of luck to you moving forward!
