Welp, if their new house has mold, then my old house definitely has it. May seem like poor logic, but I'm not going off that alone. Certain smells just seem off to me, irritate my sinuses, give me tingly sensations in there. Sometimes, they ache too.
Also, recently, to make matters worse, some sort of defect in our roof, the shingles, has allowed for the rain to leak in a little spot along a support beam in one of the rooms. It only happens during heavy downpours, but.. still. My grandmother's got someone lined up to fix it. Though, considering there's probably mold growing up there, along the path, we've still got a serious issue on our hands, huh? I feel like that'd be a safe guess.
So, that said, the general outline I'm getting is that, to be free of it, you either gotta get your house cleaned entirely, "remediation," which, no doubt, a lot goes into, as far as time AND money, or pack up and move. My research on the matter's limited, but I'm really doubtful that we could afford that.
I could never convince her to pack up and move either, 'cause, one, doubt she'd believe the seriousness of it, if I tried to convey, and, two, she's old. Her and my grandfather bought the house in like the 60's. She ain't leaving. lol
I'd say, let's give fixing it a try ourselves, but I don't know anything about carpentry to be tearing our roof apart to get at it.
Too expensive to move as well. I'd hoped to be able to get back into school, get a little education, work my way into a decent field, earning me more money, then get a little more education, then more advancement followed by even more money, and keep building. So on and so on.
I could not get a job to make living on my own and affording treatment a reality right now, unless I started putting in like 50 - 60 hour weeks, which would just be even more damaging. I barely make it through half of that.
But, anyway, sorry to be ranting about my crap. Mold's been on my mind this morning, saw your post, and.. yeah. Totally know how you feel.
Some of my most-used phrases:
"It's always something."
"Too many problems, so few answers."
"Give me a ****ing break." lol
Funfunfun, life.. huh?
