The local general doctor I went to see was what I call a "doc in the box." It is just a clinic and has rotating doctors, about 3 of them. I didn't want to drive an hour to my internal medicine doctor. I tell ya what she was a Godsend. She was worth every penny just to talk to at that appointment. She gave me a prescription for something or other but it is one of those you have to take every day and you can't just quit when you want to. The last thing I want is another pill. I filled the prescription and it is here and I guess it is like a ship's lifebuoy, it is comforting that I just know it is there, but I don't want to use it.
Being new somewhere can be full of anxiety. Join something you are interested in. Book club, gym, cooking class, bird watching group or church. If you look up non-profit organizations in your area, they always can use free help. Sometimes just stuffing envelopes and it is a nice way to meet new people.
Hang in there and if you choose a cooking class, let me know the recipes. I love to cook.
