PLEASE be very very careful with organic produce imported from Mexico. I got VERY ill, went to Immediate care, and then E.R. the next day for bloody stools, severe intestinal pain, and fever. The stool test revealed a strain of salmonella that came from imported cucumbers. I'd been eating alot of cucumbers due to it being one of FEW raw foods I can eat.
The health dept has investigated my purchases and sure enough I bot cukes from a store who bought from a produce distributor who DID NOT put the produce through the 'recommended' fresh produce spray. Of the 735 people who came down w/the same strain that is rarely found on food, the one common denominator is organic raw cucumber!!!!
People w/Lyme have weakened immune systems, right? So don't eat unpeeled produce. I'm still eating cucumbers, I now use a veggie scrubber and then dry it off w/my antibac cloth by NORWEX, and THEN I peel it!.....
Anyway, It was such a horrible experience that I'm trying to help others avoid!
