Hey everyone I'm a new member looking for people that have been going through similar issues with Lyme.
A little background, always a very healthy person but that was all about to change at 18 years old I had a bullseye rash on my inner thigh. Thinking nothing of it I had a roommate who was an er intern finishing up med school check it out. He said it was ring worm and to not worry about it. After 6 years and 25+ doctors of every field finding nothing. Just recently through a blood test I was positive with Lyme and bartonella, borellia, and 2 other coinfections I can't remember. I have battled severe vertigo, panic attacks, tremors, no energy, weight gain, vision problems, and many many more things. Basically life has become very hard to live. I have been told to take anti depressants that it's all in my head. I have my first appointment with a llmd tomorrow and am having a lot of anxiety and fear of the unknown. Having the thoughts that I will feel like this the rest of my life. Is there hope?? Looking for some encouragement or insight or suggestions? Thanks for taking the time.

Welcome to the forum Danedude :) I am sorry to hear of what you have been through.

I have a similar story - got the rash, was told it was ringworm, got the symptoms and got told to try antidepressants, so know that you are not alone!!

I am happy to hear that you have got an LLMD and know that with treatment you will start to feel better. Like Girlie said folks here have gotten better with the right treatment. Thanks so much for all the replies. It's making me feel like I'm finally on the right track. It's just tough to get excited for treatment because I feel like I've been let down for along time with this Lyme, I'm sure everyone knows that feeling. I didn't actually see the print out of the levels but I'm sure I will see where we are at more so after tomorrow's appointment.
How bad do you think the herxing will be I've heard some horror stories about it?

Allie - When you have a moment, I'd like to suggest you also read through the "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" thread. it's got a lot of great information.

Dane - the herxing varies - it depends on a few things - how aggressive the treatment is, how much you detox, how well your body can detox, how high the bacterial load is.

This is why we stress here - detox, detox, detox.
- Not once in a while - but daily - not one method...but many. (yes, many each day) The detoxing helps to alleviate the herx symptoms.

That is great advise. I'm in the same spot. Take things slow. I know the feeling that you want.. Waking up tomorrow feeling healed. I wanted that to happen. There are supplements out there that will help. Everyone is different. It takes time to heal. Just remember take it day by day:) Be positive can be difficult when you feel awful but just remember there is always a purpose! Good luck. Everyone on here seems so helpful!

Danedude, I still fall asleep thinking I'll wake up tomorrow feeling like I did when I was 18. I'm only 25 but it really plays tricks with you're head and the people closest to you. I feel great one out of 7 days a week, but treatment does help! Try to be positive in this hard time. I'm here if you need a friend! :)

I just started my treatment a few days ago. Yes, some improvement. I still have a ton of brain fog, and my anxiety is worse but I think that's just me. I don't like health issues. I fear the worst. I just take it day by day. I try to one day imagine my life without Lyme, it's hard but I know I will get there. I always think tomorrow with be the Magic cure! I have to learn more patience with it. Improvement comes with time. I've excepted that. (I was in my own stubborn world thinking differently for awhile).

I've always struggled with anxiety but the Lyme def increases it. Sometimes it's unbareable! I'm glad we connected. Makes me feel good knowing I'm not alone in this:)

Exactly. I overthink it a lot too. I see you're going for you're treatment tomorrow. That's awesome news. Just take it easy, it will be alright even though you may feel differently. Lyme tricks you in believing you will never be well. You will be:)

Little Bear: It seems ring worm is often mistaken for Lyme. We are paying a heavy price for it. Sorry to hear about all those years misdiagnosed. Thanks for the kind words I'm feeling pretty good about the appointment finally being here. I will look into detoxing now I'm gonna need it. Thanks

Thanks PeteZa, myself I'm all about holistic and the all natural way of life. However, this is the last straw for me. Unfortunately, the herbal/supplement way didn't work for me. I wish it did. My body just didn't act strong enough to the supplements. Like I said before though, everybody is different. I wish you all the luck with it too! Yoga and medication sounds like a great way to relieve some of that stress!
