My hands to that too. Irritating. Is she using any anti-inflammatories? I like turmeric best - no side effects to worry about unless your blood is already quite thin from taking Coumadin or other blood thinners. And even then you only have to modify the amount. My hubby is on Coumadin and takes 2500 mgs of turmeric twice a day - although he did have to build up to that slowly.
Also, is she using anything to help moisturize her hands? Are her feet just as dry? Winter weather brings on these tendencies for many, and when I had Lyme, it was worse than it is now. I like using coconut oil as a moisturizer for any part of my body. It has a lot of healing properties (antibacterial, antiviral, etc.) as well as being a way to not only get more of those health fats in your body, but to moisturize it as well.
I even use coconut oil on my hair as a deep moisturizing treatment once in a while. It really works well!
