Update and NAC question

Hello friends,

I've been doing UBVI and am really feeling the benefit. My shoulder which was stiff and painful is freeing up and although a bit sore, has almost the mobility as my other arm. As my work group as noticed, I am more chipper! I do feel better.

I am also taking a host of supplements. NAC for one. After a few of my treatments I have had a wheeze especially the morning after UVBI. I assume the cpn is still there and is being poked at. But, last night after my NAC i started to wheeze.

So my question, how much nac do you take? My capsules are 900. I take one. And I take something else that has 250 NAC in it.

I know it's breaks up biofilm (cyst buster too?) and kicks CPN Id like to make sure I'm taking enough.

Such great news about your response to UBVI treatment! May the improvements continue!!!

Buhner recommends 2000mg NAC in the morning and again at bedtime.

I felt great at that dose and lowered it to 600mg AM/PM since I am feeling really good.

There was a significant, negative difference with my mucus at the lower dose. I increased back to the dose that had me feeling great...and all is in order with my mucus lol

It's so great that you are 98% healed. I was there once, but the bugs were hiding. I guess I shouldn't ask how old you are. That's what "changed" for me. I thought I got through it unscathed. But when hormones change, your own immume system can't always cope like it did. It all blew up! That's one of the reasons why I want to get them out of hiding using NAC. So when I'm healed. I'm healed.

Thanks, Purple Tulip! That 98% was achieved quite recently after being stuck at 90% since February. I credit Buhner's protocols.

I'm so sorry to hear that Lyme is rearing its ugly head again for you! I'm old enough that I don't care what anyone thinks about my age which is 58 ;)

I must tell you that, once I heal, I plan on taking Japanese Knotweed and possibly Cat's Claw indefinitely in smaller doses than I'm taking now. And, if all continues to go well with the 500mg Astragalus I'm taking, I'll bump it up to 1000mg... and then 3000mg during "high tick season".

Would you please clarify what you mean when you said "I want to get them out of hiding using NAC"?

My understanding is that NAC prevents the formation of biofilm....if you are aware of other actions, I'd love to hear about them.

I take NAC as part of a Cpn protocol - it deals with the Elementary Body form of Cpn. It's good to continue to take NAC after treatment to prevent reinfection. I take 1200mg twice a day.

Somewhere in one of Buhner's books he wrote that it interferes with the formation of biofilm....

I don't recall anything else and that's why I asked. I can't say that I researched further after reading Buhner's words because I'd already been taking NAC as a result of reading Dr. Burrascano's supplement suggestions in his 2008 "Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines" for the benefits Dr. B stated in the guidelines. Biofilm wasn't mentioned. Buhner's books are more recent and based upon review of thousands of medical journal articles.

GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract) is commonly used as a cyst buster.

I just read (last night) in Buhner's Healing Lyme co-infections that 4000 mg/day of NAC stops the cytokine cascade for mycoplasma infections. He didn't mention biofilms.

What brand of grapefruit seed extract do you recommend? How much? Until my total break from antibiotics I was taking flagyl. Thanks

Regarding NAC,

I first took it for detox, as I have issues with the MTHFR gene and it is an activated precursor of glutathione of which I am probably low of.

Later I found out about the Wheldon protocol and biofilm.

When I started my Wheldon protocol I started coughing and didn't stop since .It is wet, I get out clear mucus.
So I think they break up biofilm in my lungs and maybe clear out chl. pn.?I really hope so.

By the way I take 2x 600mg/ day and during her the double of it.

I pulled out my copies of Buhner's books.

He lists NAC in the Materia Medica section of his book that covers Anaplasma, Babesia and Erlichia saying that it's specific of a number of coinfections. There's almost 2 pages of text on NAC.

That same text is in the book you ,cr3ativegirl, mentioned here as well as his new Lyme book that was released this month.

NAC is also listed in his biofilm protocol that is outlined in that same new Lyme book.

There is a lot of contradictory information out there about GSE - mostly to the extent that many of the preparations are contaminated.

I took Nutribiotic brand based upon the recommendations made on my thread (lots of good info provided by other members there):

Yes. I am so glad NAC is also helping candida! I've done way too many antibiotics.
