Hi guys, currently on the following meds:

Mepron, Zithromax, Minocycline

I noticed any somewhat loud sounds like a car radio or TV are painfully loud, whereas before the meds they were just "normal" loud. Is this is a sign of mild ototoxicity? Anything to be concerned about? Which drugs that I'm taking can do that if any? Thanks!

I've had a huge problem with ototoxicity and meds for lyme. Unfortunately everyone is different and it'd be hard to tell you which one is causing it for you. It could even be all 3.

I would get an awful ringing in my ears as well as the sound sensitivity you described. It was pretty hard to deal with, knowing the pills that I have to take may also damage my hearing. This ear issues are what made me switch to an herbal protocol and I am getting better so much faster.

No ringing at all, just loud noises have become painful. I have heard that mostly any mild ototoxicity is reversible though when the drugs are stopped...???

I think you are herxing and it is causing light and sound sensitivity.(for me it does that and also audio hallucinations in that that I hear ringing the phone or bells at the door when it is actually not, and I am usually angry that no one wants to open the door ;).

I say detox more or lower a bit the Abx. dosage.Wait for the others what they have to say.
