Smells and lyme

So for 2 days I have been smelling bug spray. Last night it was bad when I washed my hands in the kitchen sink and then when I took my shower before bed it was bad again.

Of course I think everything that happens is lyme so I just go with the flow. After I got out of the shower I said aloud peeee Yoooou and I finally tell my husband I smell bug spray. He said where and I told him in the water. I have the nose of a bloodhound and he is constantly saying "I don't smell it." Well, he went into the bathroom and ran water and he said "oh my gosh I smell it too!"

So today I call the water company and ask them if they are getting a lot of calls about bud spray smells from our water and all be darn, they have. Oh, and they are working on it.

We have a water filter on the kitchen for drinking but gosh I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom. It grosses me out that I could be ingesting an insecticide. Well, it smells like an insecticide.

Ya, I bought a water distiller. I don't trust our local water.

I've always had a "super snoot" and it was problematic at times lol

Glad yours served you well this time, Annette. And, so sorry to hear about your water!! Unfortunately, tap water is often contaminated - "just" with pharmaceuticals. blech

I keep telling my husband the ability to smell everything 20x more than the average person (and horrible chemical sensitivity that goes along with it) is a super power I wish i did not have!

Nasty. Heaven knows what's in the water. We were on city water in our last home and I certainly didn't trust it, so we researched and got a Berkey water filter for the kitchen and put shower filters in both bathrooms. Eventually we just bit the bullet and put in a whole house filter.

Where was it that the water coming out of faucets could be lit on fire. Just a couple years ago.

I smelled gas once and my husband thought I was nuts. Finally called the gas company and sure enough, gas leak from the meter. The gas company repairman told my husband "if your wife smells gas you should always believe her" and explained most of the accurate reports of gas leaks are found by women.
