Mid day fatigue?

Hello All,

Almost everyday....around same time,I experience moderate fatigue and brain fog?

I detox most of the day.....sleep is around 7 hrs avg per night....take all my supplements and meds.

Starts mid day and stays until around bedtime?

Any suggestions would help....thanks!

I was also experiencing this...about 2-3 pm every day it was just about all I could do to keep my eyes open. I started taking 5 mg DHEA in the mornings and it helped and then about a month or 6 weeks later, I upped it to 10 mg and now my fatigue is almost not noticeable. I won't go more than 10 mg per day and started slow, but it has helped me quite a bit. I still get a little draggy if I have a lunch with too much carbs in it, but otherwise, I can function almost like a normal person! :)

jenny - did you have your cortisol and dhea levels tested prior to adding in the DHEA?

reminder - sounds like your adrenals are suffering. You could get your cortisol/dhea tested - with the 4 x daily saliva test.

I think you can get dhea without a prescription in the U.S. I'm not sure though (I'm from Canada).

You can try the herbal approach first -

It is quite common for our adrenals to be suffering when dealing with these infections. Support with supplements may only be needed while treating until we get the infection under control and our body recovers.

Personally, I wouldn't supplement with dhea until I've had the test so see if needed.

But, others find it to be a safe supplement to take...

Girlie,

Yes, I had done that cortisol/adrenal test months prior. My levels were all over the place and my adrenals were tanked. We had tried other options to get my cortisol levels straightened out. I was on a bunch of supplements for adrenals and some pharmaceutical scrips, too, prior to adding the DHEA. Surprisingly this was the first thing that I noticed actually seemed to level me out during the day....I don't know if it was just the time in my treatment or if this is something that my body actually really needed and once I started taking it, I started having much more level energy patterns and could stay awake for the entire day!

BTW, that cortisol test is one of the worst things I've ever had to do.....I am a gagger and spitting into those little vials was just so gross. Isn't it ridiculous the things that affect us? Ick!

I got the fatigue every day at about 2-3 pm also. I just took a nap, and was fortunate that I could do that for 30 minutes. Then about a month later into treatment, I needed no nap.

My adrenals tanked as well as my thyroid so I am on cortisol and thyroid meds. I also take DHEA which you can get over the counter- just make sure it is in the sublingual form. As explained to me by my MD that gets it into your system quickly as opposed to it being processed by your liver.

I still have occasional fatigue usually 2-3 p.m. if too much I can take additional cortisol. What a difference these drugs have made!
