I am feeling terribly unwell and have lyme and dysautonomia. But I am not sure if the lyme disrupted my autonomous nervous system or if it was my heartsurgery.
My main symptom is of general malaise and neurosymptoms like a feeling of pressure and strange feeling in thehead
A holistic dr told me that i would benefit from going to a traditional chinese doctor as TCM is effective for dysautonomia(imbalance of sympathic versus parasympatic NS
This dr says that the combination of chinese herbs and acupuncture could be helpful
I am presently on the eva sapi protocol (last 8 months) and minocyclin 100mg for 6 weeks ,no improvement seen ;Ihave never herxed nor on the iv abx either Ihad before .
I would like to combine the chinese herbs with sapi protocol and abx as i do not want to give up those too soon
IS this posssible
anyone been to a traditional chinese med ? Was it helpful or not

TCM practitioner have a unique view on healing - I used one to help me heal from 40 yr old Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia and other tick-borne infections, even though she had never knowingly treated another Lyme patient.

I wouldn't have made it through any of what I experienced if she wouldn't have been there to help me with acupuncture and the Chinese herbs. She was a Master Chinese Herbalist, Master Western Herbalist and was the most intuitive acupuncture therapist that I have ever had. She really was amazing.

While I still used protocols of my own for the actual treatment of the tick-borne infections, she provided the herbs for them and the support that my body needed - including that precious pain relief through acupuncture.

I would encourage you to find the most experienced one you can that has had years of training and gone through an apprenticeship as well as having years of experience. This is such a complex infection, those without that kind of experience weren't able to do much more than give me "band aid" treatments.

When we talked, I mentionned that doctor in Blankenberge. You could give it a try and see him. He has a classical GP training, after that studied acupuncture and chinese medicine in Beijing. I think I only talked about the acupuncture, but he also does chinese medicine, I think I forgot to mention that. He's not expensive at all. Maybe worth the try??

I am going to see a chinese medicine practitioner in a couple days and I am really hopeful that it will help me. I know many people have found success with Buhner's protocol which uses chinese herbs so I figured it was a good idea. I have not been tested for lyme or bartonella or babesia or any of the co-infections because a. I can't afford to and b. the tests aren't 100 percent reliable. However I have extreme brain fog, depersonalization, fatigue, blurry/poor vision and I can't eat anything without having a worsening of symptoms and this sounds to me a lot like bartonella. I was bitten by a tick at age six and had a bullseye rash. I don't know why I would all of a sudden have symptoms 20 years later but what else could it be? i could've contracted it it some other way in the last year I did work at a lot of farms over the course of six months during the summer. Anyway, what you say is encouraging, I just hope that this chinese doctor will be able to cure me without my having to do a lot of other protocols on my own...I really hope he can help me.

Buhner uses herbs, not Chinese Herbs, although Chinese practitioners will also use the same herbs. In TCM like I used, more than just herbs are used at times, but it's incredibly healing when used properly. I was amazed to be honest.

A bulls eye rash is completely diagnostic of Lyme disease. The reason you suddenly had symptoms was that your body could no longer carry on. Too much stress, too much dysfunction will bring the body to a stand still, if you will. But, as you pointed out, you could also have been reinfected.

As for the particular doctor you are preparing to see helping you, that would depend in their expertise. If they are good enough, and are open minded, and intuitive enough - they can most definitely help you heal. You may wish to talk with them first to see if they have ever knowingly treated anyone with these infections before and if so, how many people they have been able to bring complete healing to.

My TCM practitioner and I chose my protocols together for Lyme and Bartonella, that's why I know them so well. She chose the Babesia protocol after spending hours and hours of reading about the infection and what the antimalarial meds were doing to help heal people. If your TCM practitioner is open to leaning, you can bring them articles that will help them understand how to best treat you.

Buhner's herbs may not be chinese, but when you go to buy them it is nice to know their chinese name so you can find them also.

Adrographis - Chyuan Xin Lian
Houttuynia - Yu Xing Cao
Japanese Knotweed - Hu Zhang

Those are a few. Also you need to learn their botanical names so you can buy them also. It is tricky.
