Also you can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at medicalinfo@tbdalliance.org for LLMD referrals and you can go to
tbdalliance.org to learn more about
these infections.
You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first with an email. I wanted more options than 3 per email address, so I used another family members email also. Here is the link:

/sites.google.com/site/lymedoctors/virginiaThese are suggestions of places to look. These are for you to do your own interviewing of the doctors. I have no personal experience with them. On the New To Lyme? ... Start Here! thread you will see on page 2 suggested questions to ask a LLMD. You would want to know how many lyme patients they have treated. Ask if they take insurance, how much they charge, how long until you can get an appointment, etc. All the usual questions you would ask any other potential "working-for-you doctor."
Now for today, you might want to start helping your immune system learn to fight. I would do this gently and slowly unless you are already in the practice of taking a multiple vitamin. This would be helpful. No junk food or packaged food. Good healthy food choices. Drink lots of water and put in a splash of lemon water. These would be good starting points for this weekend until you can talk to some doctor offices.
Another suggestion is the doctor that gave you the doxy. Did he see the rash? If he didn't, you should tell him you have a rash and see if he will give you more doxy at least until you get in with a lyme specialist. That is how I would phrase it to him.
Hang in there. And I know this is scary and all, but stress puts an additional amount of pressure on our immune system. Take some deep breaths and try and not stress. Easy for me to type. Right?
