Babesia - resistance

So, I have Artemisinin. I wanted to pair it with another Babesia treatment - to hopefully ward of a resistance. I was thinking of Mepron.

My LLND won't prescribe anything right now...wants to hold off on Babs treatment for now...wants me to do hormonal support instead. (Yup, after 9 1/2 months of Lyme antibiotics and about 7 months of Bart antibiotics).
I think it's time to do Babesia.

I was thinking I needed another anti-malarial - like Mepron...or Alinia...or something.
BUT - then I remembered - with Mepron, often Zithro is prescribed - it's not always two antimalarials.

So, I do have some antibiotics in my arsenal - I have minocycline (about 6 weeks worth) - and Ceftin (about two weeks worth) Dr. MR - one of his protocols is Mepron plus minocycline (or doxy, zithro....etc)
So, only one antimalarial in that combo.


I am also on Cryptolepis and Sida Acuta, L-Arginine, and Japanese knotweed. What do you all think of staying on those two plus the Artemisinin (pulsed) and adding in minocycline (if I pulse it...I can get almost 3 months) This could help keep the lyme from coming back.

I plan on taking the Crypto and sida (and L-Arginine) DAILY, but pulsing the Artemisinin (3 days on and maybe 7 days off or 10 days on and three weeks off)
and pulse the Mino as well.

So my question is: It doesn't look like the second pharmaceutical has to be another anti-malarial - according to Dr. MR...what is your opinion on that?

I do want to do the Artemisinin...i should be able to do that with whatever else i do.

I missed the fact you were self medicating this round. Mepron is pretty expensive by itself, and they now have a generic that I've heard is not quite the same formula.

I don't see why you can't just add the Art to your current protocol as long as you pulse it.

How about Malarone Girlie?...I got cut off from Mepron (hence my current relapse-ughhh) and Ive been trying to give the herbs a fair whirl but in the back of my head I feel like Im going to have to go back to abx. Malarone just isnt as strong as Mepron is what kind of worries me but maybe since its like half Mepron and half the other drug (cant remember the name at the moment) fingers crossed it will still help...

Im not sure if the Malorone has to be paired with another drug like the Mepron since it already has two drugs in it but at least you have some things in your arsenal to pair it with. *Just make sure to check out the ol' webmd interaction checker before combining if your semi-self treating w/that and choosing to combine it yourself ya know.

I had it all planned out...so frustrating...now of course i feel a bit panicky...like now he's not going to treat my Babesia...well, I guess next appointment I need to emphasize my 'Babesia' symptoms.

I have started the Artemisinin - and am taking it with some lyme antibiotics...plus the Cryptolepis and Sida Acuta - so we'll see what happens.

I had thought about Malarone - being it's in pill form instead of a thick yellow liquid. (I gag very easy)
But, wondered, too about the half amount of Mepron....

Ighhhhh...wells whats up with that!!..He should be willing to cover all bases and esp. if your still NOT all the way healed! I wish I could recommend a legit online pharm but I do not really know any that I feel I would take "the chance" ordering from has always been the issue for me when Ive thought about it. I actually had a couple online pharms bookmarked in my pc I thought, but I mustve not re-named them so I could identify easier so I will have to dig deeper to see if I can find and if so Ill post links.

At least your starting with the Art AND you have it combined with the other herbs and abx and Im assuming your going to pulse it. I have yet to do Art yet either but that is right around the corner once I finish ramping up on what Ive already started here recently. From what I have read, the babesia can develop the resistance to the Art but it also CAN really work alot of times too. Hopefully that Art will kick some Babs butt(or if any parasites are in there...may it kick their butt too! ;-)

Yup - I am pulsing the Artemisinin - have written out about 5 different protocols using Art...and keep going back and forth on which one to use.

Dr. MR - says after 3 (!!!!) days, our intestines can create an enzyme to kill the Art. so he suggests 3 on 11 off.
But my researching shows that most people do longer than 3 days.

And...then there's the resistance that Babs can develop .....

I've also got the option of going to another LLND and scheduling an initial consult....and beg for Mepron or Malarone

bluelyme - I do have some tinidazole leftover...but hadn't read anything about it being effective for Babesia.

And Alinia and ivermectin - those would be prescriptions, wouldn't they?
Then I'm in the same boat....basically without a paddle.
