Alzheimer's triggered by immune response going into over-drive in response to bacteria?

There's a rash of news coverage in both the medical and the mainstream mass media about this at the moment. It's a very important breakthrough that human beta-amyloid has been proven to act as an antimicrobial peptide .

It supports everything Dr Alan MacDonald and his colleagues at the Paul Duray Research Fellowship Endowment have been saying.

Last summer Dr MacDonald and his colleagues found 1000 consecutive Alzheimer hippocampal plaques examined contained Borrelia biofilm. The plaques are the hallmark of Alzheimer's, and the hippocampus is a part of the brain which is notoriously badly damaged in Alzheimer's. (The hippocampus is highly concerned with memory.)

They found that the biofilm was coated with beta-amyloid. Everywhere the amyloid was, borrelia was.

And everywhere, in the surrounding healthy tissue, where the amyloid was absent, the borrelia was absent too.

They also found circulating Borrelia biofilm in the blood of a patient who died of Alzheimer's. This was coated with insoluble beta-amyloid (and so theoretically could block blood vessels causing strokes and other embolic events.)

The pharmaceutical industry has invested billions in R&D of drugs to get rid of beta-amyloid, on the basis that the orthodox theory of beta-amyloid causing Alzheimer's is true, even though it's never been proven.

None of these anti-amyloid drugs have proved to be safe and effective.

Maybe it's time the world starts looking at Dr Alan MacDonald's work? The scale of suffering from Alzheimers is such that it threatens to destabilise governments, as many countries cannot cope with the economic burden of so many dependent people who may need round-the-clock care for years - not to mention the human disaster of tens of millions of victims.

Yes, the pharma corporations are going to hurt when the truth is known. but tens of millions of human lives (hundreds of millions, if you take into account the suffering of the victim's family) are more important than billions of dollars or the profits of companies which already make billions.

Mental Illness....I often wonder how many people suffer from this due to lack of a treatment plan for Lyme....Lyme and the brain,all coming together...nice that Harvard places validity on this (Lyme brain connection)

HE IS THE BREAKTHROUGH PIONEER ON IDENTIFYING LYME DNA IN ALZHEIMER BRAIN SAMPLES I have been a PA-C for 34 years and I couldn't believe the lack of research into this MY money is on chronic infection. So treat your chronic LYME by antibiotics or herb protocols (I threw in colloidal silver too).
