Do these test results mean I have lyme?

From quest diagnostics.

Lyme ab positive 1.95
23 kdm (igm) was my only reactive band.

The symptoms I've had have been pretty extreme and varied. Some of them have been on going for at least a year to a minor extent, nothing that was to concerning. Severe symptoms about 4 months ago.

Joint pain and swelling, neck stiffness, constant low back pain, numbness in extremities, insomnia, fatigue, cloudy thinking, short term memory problems, blurry vision, head ache, feel like I have the flu randomly and frequently. acid reflux, early stages of colitis confirmed by colonoscopy. Chills, muscle weakness, I guess you could say tremors at times. Possible hypothyrodism Tsh high, tpo anti-bodies slightly high. free t3 normal no t4 test. Low levels of vitamin D, Iodine, ferritin, iron.

After a few weeks of symptoms like these at their height I had a series of strokes. I was diagnosed with dialated cardiomyopathy. A clot formed in my heart and caused the strokes. Thankfully I had no permanent deficits from the strokes. Doctors never gave me a reason for the cardiomyopathy. I'm only 31 by the way.

I continue to have the above symptoms stated above even. after my heart has been normalized on the heart meds.

I've been tested for about everything under the sun. Allergies, MS, about all of the autoimmune diseases, viruses. The only thing That turned Up was the lyme results and the suspect thyroid stuff.

I've been completely written off as being normal since the testing, even though I am clearly not. Kinda at my wits end at this point, and suspect most if not all of this could be explained by lyme. Sorry for the long drawn out post. Made me feel a little better typing it all out though.

Oh wow, that's a lot for 31! Hopefully you are on the right track now and will feel better soon. So band 23 is lyme specific. You've been given the run around up to this point so I would advise seeing an LLMD (which I think you posted a new thread for doc).

Do you recall a tick bite? It doesn't really matter if not, many don't.

your current doctor is an idiot i'm afraid to say and isn't going to help you. waiting a few months is a long time given how you're feeling. maybe you should enable your email address and start up a new thread asking for LLMD's in your area.

I submitted for a referral on a website called ilads and waiting for a ressponse. I know nothing of that organization though. I'll post the a thread here when I get a chance. Even if that website is credible. It would be nice to get a reference from someone who has dealt with the physician at least before a potentially long drive and money invested.

I called and got my appointment with the integrative physician that's in my area bumped up to June 17th thanks to some cancelations. Her info says she treats lyme. The cost isn't prohibitive for me and she is 30 minutes away. I guess I'll wait a couple weeks and see. I got three recommendations from ilads if it doesn't pan out.

Should I still insist on testing through igenex, depending on how it goes If this isn't recommend by her?

If it were me, I would save my money for treatment and not another test. You have a positive test already. Now all you need is treatment to get on your road to recovery.

You were lucky to get the 400 mg daily dose - and 3 months, too!

But, you really want to add a second antibiotic after a month and not do monotherapy for three months.

She sadly was completely opposed to using an other antibiotic other than doxy. Said that doxy is the only antibiotic that kills Borrelia burgdorferi. I recommended the dose/duration. She was initially only going to do 200 mg for 2 months. She wasn't going to give me that as she said she usually only treats chronic lyme infections with that desbios herbal lyme protocol I mentioned, but she couldn't do that because of possible interactions. Not sure what I'm going to do. I go back in a month and she wants me to start the on the herbs if they don't have interactions with my current meds in addition for 2 months.

I'm probably going to make a back up appointment with one of the Ilads recommend doctors I got. She Just doesn't seem like she's the most knowledgeable on lyme specifcally.
