Hi everyone looking for some advice/opinions. about
2 weeks ago my wife started feeling what she describes as bugs crawling all over her body. It was under the skin and any itching would help for a few seconds but it would come back. It tends to get worse at different times during the day and move around so to speak. Today she told me its hit her hands for the first time and it feels not like bugs but more tingling and numbness.
We have no idea what it is. I can say with high confidence she hasn't been bitten by a tick recently as we check the kids and ourselves daily since I've been sick with the bugs for a few years.
Any thoughts what this could be? I'm worried cause its something that's never happened to her before and modern medicine is typically clueless when it comes to stuff like this. I'm also worried because not much is known whether lyme and/or co-infections can be transmitted sexually. Some say possibly some say no. Thanks for any replies.

Step one is to double check on new soaps - laundry, kitchen, shampoo, conditioner. Any new product in the house? Really double check. I bought laundry soap and just grabbed the one that looked like what I generally get and it was different. Made me itch.
Any products that are new in the house? Or any skin or hair products that are old and outdated?
Has she been tested for lyme? The jury is still out, but I think lyme can be sexually transmitted. I am not a doctor! Lyme spirochetes have been seen in body fluids.
One of my first symptoms was thinking there was a bug on me and I would swat at myself constantly. It got to where I was doing it so often and nothing was there, that when there was something there I dismissed it until I looked and saw the ant crawling up my leg.

Hi Rikky,
I bet you are worried. Have you considered sending off for an Igenix test, just to be sure?

i definitely want to do an igenex test if i can find a doctor that will actually do one for us. it's ridiculous you can't even find doctors who will order one because of their built in biases. sure you can have them do the horrible western blot as its a standard IDSA test but beyond that oy.

The only thing a doc or chiro has to do is "sign off" on the request.
You can order the test kit directly from Igenex. Get test 188 and 189 - cost is $210. They will send you everything. You get a doc or chiro to sign the paperwork and go to a lab and they will draw the blood. Then you ship it via fast carrier to Igenex. Just make sure you do not ship on a Friday because shipping companies don't move on the weekends and you do not want your blood sitting in a warehouse until movement on Monday.

The itchiness sounded like it could be a reaction to soap, detergent, etc. but now that it's numbness and tingling...it doesn't. (IMO)
Rikky - you can try True Health Labs if you don't have a Dr. to sign an Igenex test.

thanks everyone. the doctor that does my meyer's cocktails will order an igenex test and because he's in-network the test will be covered 100% which is great. i got an appt for her tomorrow.
one other tidbit to add her lymph node behind her right knee is very swollen indicating some type of infection. whether she can't detoxify fast enough or its swollen due to something is unknown.

Hi Rikky,
I have only been a member of this forum for a short time but I feel I have to reply to your post since the symptoms your wife is experiencing are exactly the same ones I was experiencing over a year ago. With encouragement from members of this forum I did get an Igenex test 5 weeks ago and am meeting with a LLMD tomorrow. I wanted to change some of the labs the doc ordered so I called Igenex ..... They were extremely helpful! If you have any questions I would def call Igenex.
