Hey All....Been a long time. Thought I would stop in and say hello.

First and foremost, thanks to everyone on the forum that provided me with assistance over the years. Of all the sites I belonged to, this one by far offered the most knowledgeable and fact driven advice. It helped me soooo much and I have recommended it to everyone I meet that has questions about lyme.

I went to a very dark place last year and had to basically just work on surviving and stay off the internet. Every time I logged into one of the 100's of Lyme sites/forums/FB Groups I was a member of or subscribed too, I would find some new treatment that was working wonderfully for someone somewhere and I was in such desperation that it would make me want to quit the protocol I was on and start something else. I finally just decided i was going to put my head down, ignore it all, and push along the path I had chosen to take and see where it got me.

With much happiness, I can say that after being sick for 10 to 15 years and treating for 3+ years, I took my last dose of antibiotics last week and said goodbye to my LLMD. I am extremely happy and extremely scared with where I am right now, but I am taking advantage of my good health while I have it.

I'm in no way shape or form back to where I was prior to becoming sick, but it has been a long trip to get where I am now. I'm cutting and splitting wood every other day, taking 10 mile bike rides a few times a week, fishing with my father, going shopping with my wife, and even running and playing soccer with my kiddo. I'm tentatively planning a 15 mile 3 day backpacking trip for me and my daughter before she goes back to school. This is a far cry from not being able to leave my house or walk 50' like when I was sick. So much time lost. I just don't want to spend another minute not taking full advantage of what time I have as I know how short and how valuable it is now. The wife kids and says she now has two children (me being the second one).

I'm certainly not writing to brag or rub it in. I just know that there were so many days that I barely made it through (and those days were won by faith alone) that I felt obligated to stop back in and post my current status with this wonderful group. Knowing there is in fact a light at the other end of the tunnel is so important. Things do get better, there is hope, and there is happiness. I pray that each of you stay strong and fight your way through!!

Lyme In the cuckoo nut

Oh Cuckoo Nut yippee for you and so glad your wife has her other kid back!

I too healed and have a little shell shock. Any little twinge and I stop in my tracks and try and figure out if this is lyme coming back..... I was a lot worse doing that, but have mellowed out a lot as each passing day goes by without a symptom.

You are so right about cherishing things. I do not take anything for granted.

Would you mind sharing if you did something different this last year...did you change things up...that led to healing...or did you just continue doing what you were doing...and healed that way?
