Once you have Lyme, unless it's caught and treated properly (read aggressively) within the first two weeks ( I believe), then the body will always produce antibodies to the bacteria as it's keeping it under control by killing the bacteria at a high enough rate to keep you healthy - thereby producing the antibodies the tests look for.
