As We Suspected, Husband Has Lyme

Today, we received a notice saying my husband Bill's IgeneX test was positive for bartonella and that he has multiple positive Lyme bands. Our LLMD diagnosed him with Lyme and bartonella, and will discuss treatment options with us, next week.

My recent IgeneX test shows the same positive bands as two years ago. The doctor will prescribe antibiotics whenever or if I choose to start such treatment. I plan to finish the yeast treatment and EBV treatment before deciding how to proceed.

The only symptoms we have in common are trouble recalling the right words, fatigue, sleepiness and being more irritable than before.

I think we need to test one of our dogs, too. He was very sick as a pup, but never diagnosed with anything, and his eyes have always been red (like mine, lol).

So very sorry about your hubby.

You will find that a vet can run a lyme test on a dog in about 5 minutes. If that isn't eye opening!!!

Thanks for updating us - I am so sorry it's another infection (and your pup !) but as you know getting diagnosed properly is half the battle.

The similar bands is interesting - this is what many clinicians and patients are sharing anecdotally, that supports the sexual transmission studies. It's unlikely that the same tick fed on you, given their feeding cycles.

I think the sequence for treatment you have in mind is great. Some people like to treat Bart first - it gave me a lot of cognitive problems that interfered with stating on the protocol so sometimes I wonder if I should have treated it first.

I am glad that you are both getting properly treated for Lyme and co's.

I keep telling my husband to get tested, but he refuses.
