ILADS doc recomendation

I use this site. You get 3 uses per email. So I used hubby's email address so I could get 6 references. You can ask per zip code and just put in ILADS trained. Now having said that I have noticed that some doctors only had to attend one seminar and they were considered ILADS trained?????? So ask questions of the receptionist when you get a name.

Have you used the other options for finding a LLMD as well?

Our doctors are being persecuted. They are being turned into the medical board of their state for not following IDSA treatment standards. Some loose their license right away, some have to have a monitor to approve every script and every thing the do for each patient (costing the LLMD $$$$), and others have to close up and move out of state to stop the harassment. By posting their names in public forums, or by possibly giving out a bunch to someone who just writes in (without finding out if they likely have these infections or if they are just out to gather names to turn in), people are putting these doctors in jeopardy, even if it's unintentional. We have only a precious few that are brave enough to put everything they have on the line and help us.

Navigator-$600 for a first appointment is pretty standard. It's also standard to feel worse when you start to treat. Treatment means killing the bacteria. The die off causes toxins which make us feel a lot worse. I'm going to assume you've heard of herxing.

Here are a few links that describe herxing and how it can effect people differently. The links may change the way you feel about the LLMD you are seeing. It's pretty standard that once we have a diagnosis we assume we are going to start treatment and feel better. That's common practice with other diseases and ailments. Sadly that's not the case with Lyme and co infections. It's a long up and down journey.
