I'm almost at one year of being in treatment. I am currently on 250 mg of

azithromycin twice a day but the full dose makes all of my neuro symptoms

worse, so usually I split the second pill in half. I'm just feeling very

demoralized right now because although I would say that my physical

symptoms have improved tremendously, my cognitive symptoms get the best

of me. I just want to know that there is still hope for me to get better,

I'm really losing my motivation.

Gabybee so sorry that you are still suffering, however as you noted there have been improvements. Are you open to herbs in conjunction with your abx? And yes, there is always hope to get better, but that hope and will has to really be present in your thinking. We are here for support, but your positive thinking is what will keep you going and motivated.

I"m so sorry, Gabybee! I can certainly understand though.

I agree with Krimpet with the suggestion of adding in an herbal protocol, since you can't tolerate the full dose of abx.

Also be sure that you are doing all you can to not only detox, but support any body system that is struggling to help your body heal more.

And remember, we are here to help with ideas if you need them!!

gabybee - in the past year, what other antibiotics have you been on?

If you can't handle anymore antibiotics - then I think you really should add a herbal protocol, since you aren't able to take full dose of abx - and treating with only one antibiotic at a time isn't recommended.

Have you thought about adding in an herbal protocol?

Gabybee-could it be that when you raise the dose what you are feeling is actually a herx? Herxing does make your symptoms increase.

I do believe that my neuro symptoms have something to do with herxing because they did decrease once I lowered my dose of azithromycin.

In the past year I have been on doxy, minocycline, azithromycin, and rifampin. The reason I have resorted to only taking azithromycin is because for some reason the other antibiotics really gave me stomach issues that I believe have something to do with candida.

I take samento as well but other than that I haven't been able to handle banderol.

If anyone has recommendations for me that would be great.

gaby - did you take your antibiotics with food?

And are you on a Candida diet?

I know the feeling...it was one year ago today that I was bit. I think by being diligent about doing my detoxing has helped me in the last month. I too am on 500 MG of Azithromycin right now. I know it is discouraging, but I've decided I'm not going to let this little stinking bug take over. I shall overcome!!! I think a positive attitude does help. Good luck.

i'm 2 years since being bit so understand the feeling all too well. we've all been on the mat so to speak far too many times than we care. the objective is when you fall (and we all do) to get back up and back in the fight. this is a fight for your life not a 60 minute football game. its serious and we have to be serious about it by doing all the things we should to help our bodies recover. a positive mental attitude and the belief that you will get better over time is essential in defeating the enemies within. i think i just jacked myself up with this also ;o)

Thank you so much for your kind words everyone, I am feeling much better. I believe I mostly get discouraged because I am attempting to finish my junior year as an undergrad and it is obviously very triggering to attempt to do intellectual work...

I honestly have not been on an anti-candida diet for a while now since I don't really get bloating anymore. I definitely think I should lessen my intake of gluten as well as increase the amount of protein in my diet now that you've brought it to my attention. Hopefully this will help with my brain fog and anxiety.

You have not taken tinidazole or flagyl or alinia ..burrascano says combo is needed ..i suggest upping the antie ..try bvt ,and or andrographis ,smilax ,houttyinia

My neuro symptoms also got worse when I started Zithro two weeks ago. They were clearing on doxy but got worse on zithro
