I have been taking Dr. Ohhirra's Professional Formula but I'm not sure it's potent enough. I am not able to tolerate Florastor. Looking for probiotic suggestions. Thanks.

I like Renew Life. They have a sac. boullardi that I alternate with a 50 billion probiotic mix from one day to the next.

I wonder if the fact that you can't tolerate florastor is a candida die-off reaction?

Will look into it. No I have had candida in the past and am clear of it now (may return after all these abx). I can handle HMF Forte and many others but for some reason not Florastor. Was wondering if there is a certain favorite amongst lymies.

My LLMD in 2009 when treated recomended me PB8, up to 8 pills when abx tratment, I never had an issue while taking them, my son who has stomach issues and is staying with me for a while, took and he loved them, he says for hime has been very good. I am not a Dr but this brand has helped me a lot.

I am currently doing Renew Life - 50 billion. But, I change it up after each bottle to keep from getting used to it. I do get mine in the refrigeration section of my health food store and I refrigerate mine at home. Not convenient if I am out and about and not convenient for traveling. On those times I get the best non-refrigerated I can or I travel with an ice chest.

I do use Align probiotic any time my psoriasis flares though, as it has a specific strain that helps reduce the psoriasis sores and heals my skin.

Probiotics are very heat sensitive. Not only are they destroyed by heat (why you shouldn't take them with hot drinks), but the best ones actually require refrigeration.

For this reason, I always think it's a good idea to buy probiotics from a brick and mortar store, rather than ordering them online, and having them sit in a hot mail truck for a day or two.

I think that refrigeration is necessary also, it is the one product that I will drive to the Health Food store for. I like the Garden of Life, also Udo,s. I think that the Dr. Ohirras does not need refrigeration and I have gone through a few boxes of that brand in the past. It seems a good idea to mix it up a bit as there are so many different probiotics available.

Huddie, I went to the health food store today and the probiotic I was taking is almost $90. Hubby was with me and he said, "why don't you just drink a couple Kombuchas?" Oh my gosh, thank goodness he can think. We need one of us thinking.

probiotics - check
EGCG - check
A lot of B vitamins - check

All in one convenient bottle! Just be careful not to shake the heck out of it and then take off the cap. It will explode like one of those volcano experiments you did in the 3rd grade. It is funny the first time if you are over a sink, but not funny in your car or on the dining room table.

But, don't you think they had to sit in a mail truck to get to the store as well?

I like to think that trucks that do medical deliveries to the stores are refrigerated, but I'm not sure.

I drink a komboucha every single day since lyme. Love it so much. I have the multi-green but haven't tried it yet. I am hooked on the original - and yes, I have shaken and then opened. Went all over car.

I'm using up the Dr. Ohhira before switching. HMF Forte usually comes in a special box that keeps it cold. I keep all my probiotics in the fridge but agree that the travel time can't be good. Mustard Seed had a good point - they are in a truck at some point to get to the health food store.

Peteza, which one cost $90? Was it the Seroyal-HMF? That one is the only super expensive one i know of. I took it when I was healing Candida.

I worked for United Natural Foods Inc (UNFI) for a little bit in between jobs and they have a refrigeration section in the warehouse and it goes into a refrigerated truck and then is delivered to the stores. UNFI delivers to health food stores all over and even to CVS. Great company to work for. I loved the damage food garage sale days! Dented boxes were half priced to employees.

Now if you order a "need to be refrigerated item" from Amazon - it will be either FedEx or UPS (and then delivered to the post office sometimes by UPS) and believe me those are not refrigerated vehicles and most don't have air conditioning, especially UPS.

It was Renew Life Ultimate Flora but it was the huge bottle - after seeing the $89 and change I moved on.

That is great intel. I would love those sale days too! I have a doorman so I usually order things to be delivered on a day I'm home (post Lyme: every day) and that usually works. Once Seroyal Forte was late, arrived on a weekend when we were away and they very kindly sent a new one and let me send back the bad one.

So are you foregoing probiotics and only doing Komboucha? I love GT's brand. Some have sugar and lots of caffeine so be careful.

They are usually brought in on trucks...and refrigerated. They aren't mailed to the stores.

Those are a good addition to your daily probiotics. But you would have to drink many in a day to get the required amount. It has 2 billion per bottle.

We are wanting to do 100 billion per day.

Personally I like to get my probiotics from fermented sauerkraut. Other than that I use Gutpro.
