mibella, definitely look at the side affects. I use it. My neuro started me on it before I knew I had lyme. I can't say it took the nerve pain away in my feet, but it did make the buzzing at night a little less intense. It also helps me a lot to sleep.
The problem is that it is hard to get off of. I researched it a lot and I think that is the biggest complaint. I am on a very low dose and when I try to eliminate it the buzzing (for lack of a better word) and sleeplessness happen immediately and are worse than before. Its a catch 22.
I think that Sida Acuta helped me more than the Gabapentin...I just can't go off of it even with the sida.
I hope this helps. Just be informed before you start it. It is quite helpful for a lot of people. Even Buhner recommends it for nerve pain.
